Creating a 24h section in 12h section

Hey all,

I am helping a friend with his grow room. He is in a closet that is roughly 4ft wide x 3.5ft deep x 8ft high.

He is currently using the whole thing for veg for 6 plants. He then plans on using the whole thing for flowering, however during that stage he also wants to have a section where he can keep a mom / clones on 24h light.

I'm just trying to find the best way to create a light tight space in this closet. I presume building a cab out of wood would be best? He is using fluro's so heat isn't a huge issue. But how am I supposed to vent air in and out of the cab w/o the light coming out through the fan holes effecting the flowering girls?

The closet will be split up top to bottom since he is using 4ft tubes and it's 4ft wide. So the bottom section can be the 12h section and he can build a whatever in the top 4ft for the 24 section. But again, I'm just trying to find out how to cool it and get it fresh air and all that without light just leaking to the flowering girls?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: as a side note, he has no way to run dryer vents to a window or anywhere outside of the closet. So venting the fans out of it isn't really an option.

Plain and simple ....

Make a small box to enclose everything.... then get 2 pc fans that are the same in size and cfm...... one for intake and one for exhaust... and make a light trap on each hole that you use for the fan.

Make sure to paint the inside of the trap flat black .... heres a pic to get the idea ... im not good at drawing but i hope this helps.... you can make a trap outta cardboard if you need to .... you just make like a maze and it still allows for flow... but light cant bounce back out ... make one for your intake and exhaust.

but none the less that should work .... heres something im better @

Great, thanks. You've been a big help! I guess my 1 question would be if I'm building it out of cardboard, how exactly what I construct it? lol. Just cut the pieces and then glue them like that? I guess that would work!

We ended up splitting the space in half today on the floor. So now it's roughly 2 ft wide x 3.5 deep. Each side has 600w of floros. Heat stays steady at 80 and humidity at 55. It's great! :)

Right now though it's still not light tight between the sides. That will have to be solved in the coming month or so.
