In what has to be one of the dumbest moves ever, an Arizona resident posted an ad offering to trade his ipod and a quarter ounce of Blue Dream for an ipad on Craigslist.
On top of that, he posted a photo showing his ipod and the cannabis on Craigslist. Perhaps thinking such a trade is allowed, he went ahead and met with undercover police who busted him and his friend as soon as he showed them the cannabis.
What bothers me is this: if he had done a trade with another member of his collective (if he is part of one), it probably would've been legal. But this is in Arizona so I wonder exactly which law he broke. I don't see a profit in the transaction, so it's not a sale of cannabis for profit. If it's just possession, it would've been only a $100 fine in Cali. But since the police had to investigate and setup a sting, they're not going to be happy with just a fine. So offering to trade marijuana is the crime, and I guess it's treated like a sale in the eyes of LEO, no?
Here's the ad. Evidently offering cannabis for sale or trade is becoming more common on Craigslist. My guess is the photo is what motivated the police as then they see evidence they can't ignore. Or maybe they're just big fans of Blue Dream... How convenient of him to post his location too, as that makes it easy for LEO to determine whose jurisdiction it falls in.
