Cpu Cooling fan question

I bought a fan today, I thought it was a normal pc fan but I got home and opened it and it turns out it's a CPU Cooling fan. It is designed to fit on the motherboard of a computer. It is called "akasa k25 low profile cooler" if you want to Google it.

I'm pretty sure I have the PWM thing figured out, I am pretty sure I just have to wire it to a 12v charger like a normal pc fan and leave the other two wires out of the equation and it will run full speed constantly. If this is wrong, hopefully one of you can let me know.

Also, the fan has a built in heatsink. I don't know if this will restrict airflow or make it more effective at removing excess heat from the grow room when used as an exhaust fan.

Do you think this fan will be better used as an exhaust fan or just as a fan to blow across the top of the plants?

Thanks in advance.

The heatsink won't do much if not connected to a metal heat source to "sink" the heat, like it would do with the CPU heat. How big of an area are you trying to cool or exhaust. Gonna need more info-cfms, cuft, etc. ..
Yes, u can wire it to a 12v DC plug or driver. CPU fans have wiring for temp regulation also

thanks for replying, I have wired the fan up to a 12v charger and it works just like a normal pc fan.
I know I can't use it as an exhaust fan anyway as it spins backwards and pushes air into the heatsink instead of pulling through it.

it's pretty much useless to me but at least I can use it to blow on the seedlings for now until I get the right type of fan.

the moral of the story is make sure you check properly when buying a pc fan and make sure it's not a CPU Cooling fan or you'll be down a few quid like me.

Just detach it from the sink, most unclick they all disconnect
