I coulda swore I saw a stack of cut, round black/white poly pot covers with a plant slit in the middle (somewhere) but I'll be damned if I can find em now. Anybody seen something like that and have a link? I need a bunch, so please don't suggest scissors!

Ha! No, not gonna sit down and make em, I don't have a week of my life to spare!

Anyone else? Please?

hey man dont you want your soil to have the utmost oxygen and air exchange? the roots need oxygen too and the soil needs constant flowing air over it to stop mold and continue air exchange for roots

Well, the coco gets watered with an oxygenated solution from the res, and the lids won't be airtight either (the Smartpots breathe very well too, being fabric) so I don't think oxygenation will be an issue. But after a week or searching I gave up, I'm gonna cut a couple plywood discs and clamp 20 layers of black/white plastic in the middle and cut it out, shouldn't take long to make a bunch.

I did see they make 6" square covers and cube covers for rockwool blocks, but nothing bigger.

LOL, Lordbudly 1, Lazyman 0. Damn!

I am thinking about using those new 6X6" coco blocks/grow bags (Botanicare Boss cubes I think they're called) with a 6" drip cap for a future grow, kinda expensive but it would be nice to have uniform bags and solid caps, with drippers built into them no less! I know coco digs the drip...

If you want to cover the top of your dirt...a layer of Groton works well. thirt underneath stays moist, but it can still breath

They are called block covers.
They are marketed for rockwool and come in 4" and 6" squares.

You can probably find them cheaper locally.
I use them with rockwool blocks and they are great.
The blocks can still breathe.
