Couple questions on DE setup

What up y'all

Been quite some time since I've posted and man how its changed.

I am setting up a new room and just hearing about gavitas, nanolux, and the whole DE bulb thing.

Basically I am setting up a 12x12 room which I was going to cover with 9 regular setups, but these DEs have me hyped. I was told I could get away with 4 but I'm thinking 6 will be best.

What kind of footprint do these spread? I realize they need to be positioned higher and luckily I have 9ft ceilings so just a little extra room to play.

Thanks for your input everyone!

I would look into the Lh (low height) style hoods for them. Doesn't require as much height above the plant canopy. And throws a wider footprint. I know the traditional ones were originally made for greenhouse use but can be adapted with enough headroom. There are a few different companies that make them now. Air cooled as well.

I have both gavita DE and Nanolux de 1000w lights, a couple dozen of each. I was told the Gavita throws a 4'x6' pattern, and the Nanos a 5'x5', but they both look like they use the same reflector. I swapped out 8 single-ended 1000s for 6 Gavitas, and my yields went up. I added another couple 4x8 trays (s 6 total) with 9 Gavitas. Getting around 18 to 20 pounds of OG and Sours per crop, pretty good for low-yielding strains.

3 week veg under 1000w Gavita dE, 2 gallon smartpots of coco/perlite, H&g nutes, hand watered in one location, we'll do get slightly better yields at locations with flood and drain tables though, all else is the same.
