Cost of Generators vs Grid Power Costs

I have questions about the cost of running a generator for a grow is compared to paying the electric company all your money?

Cost of electric in California is over 14 cents a kilowatt in LA and may be even as high 30 cents for some people using a lot of electric...

The cost of generating with fossil fuels is several times what it will be just to use the grid. Even with a high rate from your utility it's not even close unless you're spending big dollars to get the electrical service to your premises. I'm a utility meterman.

I agree with Stoner and furthermore you would have to factor in the cost of the generator and the maintenance as well

efficiency of disel generators tends to increase with size, with the very largest motors being the most efficient... the best power plants being like 80% efficient, meaning 80% of the total thermal energy ending up at the crank, not as heat.

small motors are far less so.

regardless of the initial cost,cost of maintenance parts etc, you fill find that a small generator will cost you far far far far far more than 14 cents per kwh though ive not done the math in all honesty.
