Cost of agricultural soil test

Soil test are done by a number of labs (not the dogs) to analyse a basic or more extensive list of qualities of the soil. Farmers use these. Can anyone here give a rough idea of the cost of the tests for the basic info?
Thanks.

Anything from $9 to $25 for the basics. Sometimes specific nitrogen tests can be higher, or if you want to get really crazy and test for microbiological activity it can get upwards of $50 per sample

Thanks very much for those replies. I find them rather comforting as I had no idea what to expect. At those prices (more or less) I will get a few done, as I am working with some 'challenging' locations. (Oh, I hate buzzwords.)

If the results are in terminology that needs a PhD to understand, I'll be back to you folks for translation.

:)
