Coral Reef clone only strain

I was wondering if anyone on here has had any experience with the Coral Reef clone? I haven’t read any discussion of it on ICMAG, or any other venue besides the cannabible, which is a shame because it is a truly unique specimen.

Where is this strain from? A close buddy of mine accidentally obtained the Reef from a local grower, as a mislabeled white widow clone, in Santa Barbara C.A. It was an especially heavy yielder, fairly potent, sativa dominant growth and high, I believe 8 weeks flower.

The most unique trait of the Coral Reef was the taste; it leaves a strikingly similar taste on your tongue and throat like O.G Kush. It has its own equally unique exotic tropical fruit punch flavor, yet it has an unclassifiable "Kush" palatate and effective taste component. I don't think that Coral Reef has any "kush" genetics in it, but the tastes are incredibly similar. The cured bud reeks of what I can only term as exactly like the taste of tropical Capri Sun "juice pouches", if you’re raising kids or if Capri sun happened to be your post T-Ball drink of choice.

Has anyone else run into the reef in the past?

Probably just another strain that someone finds a unique pheno and completely renames it.........that's probably why you don't see much about it.

Not sure about that. I first heard of it through the Cannabible 2, which had a writeup on it and some photos. When Mission Street Caregivers was going, they had it in stock one day (about 4 years ago).

It was definitely the Reef, just like he described. The buds finished huge and had the best taste and aroma.

I would love to grow out the reef again, and this time keep a cut.

Been looking for the cut still, wish I knew someone who kept a cut. This bud was definatley in my top 5 of all time for best tasting buds. It was very unique & complex for a "fruity" type aroma weed, and the flavor just stuck to the pallete forever. Had undertones similar to O.G along with an intense artificial tropical flavor like capri sun.

p.s
I know this thread is old as hell, but to answer KushedOut- The cut was given to a buddy as WW then later identified from the source of the cut as his CR not WW... don't know why I felt like I had to say that in my original post

I wish I could get my hands on it too wick...A few of my buds were growing it in santa cruz and another in berkeley. They all sourced it from a club around 05 but lost it and weren't able to find her again, seems thats when it was being vended. I know its floating around the bay area somewhere.
Im always on the look for that shredder.

Best tropical fruity smelling/tasting buds out there IMO...Ill never forget that smell :)

Hey RollinRuger,

It was me. I was just wondering if you had any more information on it. Do you know someone who is growing it out? Word of mouth?

I miss this strain way too much. I knew a friend of a friend (who was in S.C.) that had the reef but got "out of the game" after some shady transactions. Now I'm stuck at step 1.

Hey bro look for info on the strain " jasmine " or what you are calling coral reef. I looked around and talked to a few people and was told that most people call the strain Jasmine. I believe reserva presavada(spelling) sells a Jasmime cross if you can't find the cut

whats up everyone saw thread Coral Reef. its funny i just went to the co-op and they asked me if i wanted some seeds for free 15 to be exact and they had about 5 packs left. i said sure why not never heard of them before but shit if they are free why not. so tonite must be my lucky nite these are probably not coral reef seeds since you guys say it only come in clone form. let me know what you guys think if they are reall coral reef seeds or not. thx

I don't know of anyone who takes things to the clubs, but what do i know. As far as i know just a few people have/run it. Its a really fast flowering strain and does exceptional outdoors, and has a very fruity aroma (in a good way). I would consider the coral to be a large yielder, and a sativa dom. plant. I hope this helps

Before I got my own scrip, I used to trim for others here in NorCal. Several years ago I trimmed some prematurely-harvested Coral Reef (lots of planes flying overhead made the owner nervous), and found it to be very uninspiring. If you grow it, don't harvest too soon; the buzz was highly mediocre. I would consider trying it in my own garden, but I need to smoke some RIPE bud before I'd be willing to invest a garden hole on something so boring as underripe CR.
