Cops checking the coffee shops during the HT cup

I've been to a few cups and never seen this before
the cops are closing the coffee shops, checking ID's and checking the amounts of weed
it looks like there following the HT list as so far all the ones I know are on the list
at least a few IC members have been caught ip in the raids so far
but as long as you have ID on you your Ok

that right there is the main reason i dont go to those things. A gathering of growers and smokers made public for all to see is an open invite for LEO to just walk around Adam and snap pics of people or checking ID's.

Kind of like an invite do a murderers convention. Send out invites to criminals ( which us growers are in they eyes of LEO) for a public gathering is LEO's field day. they dont have to go out and look , we are all in one place. No thanks. Yup. I was actually wondering why they didnt do this earlier.. But then the again.. HTCC is mostly for tourists, so are they gonna bust? And why?

Nieve tourists are a burden to the police over there, maybe they just want to publicly show they are about to try to help keep people in line. My dealings with the Amsterdam police have always been okay, they are firm but fair if you extend them the same courtesy. Never had a problem unless i was in the wrong. Peeing in the river is a bit cheeking even if the booths are full!

I just hope this isn't going to be a big problem later on down the road. Amsterdam will be loosing alot of cash if they think they are going to close down these events. I personally think they are just trying to clean up some of the BS. Alot of us Americans do get out of control over there. I've seen it with my own eyes. No respect for others countries. Pissing any where they like and passing out because of smoke to much, etc. I'm not bitching or flaming. Just saying, they might just be trying to enforce the laws in place. I guess will see what they do after the cup is out of town. One of the best and funnies time for me in my life. Was the time i spent a whole summer living with my uncle in Holland.

lets not forget this is amsterdam and not america were talkin about, cops goin into shops an all isnt as big a deal for patrons, just have your id and no ounces of weed and everyones happy im sure. as far as icmembers gettin caught up in this all, this isnt the growers cup, its the ht cup. and even so, theres people in and out smokin in shops all day cup or no, they cant tell a smoker tourist from a grower tourist just by walkin into a shop, to them its just another head. Their there to make sure the shops operatin under regulations, it sucks but long as your not doin anything shady things should be ok

Hey Alexander, I totally agree with you and your 100% right. It's no biggy and it wouldn't bother me one bit. Now, if the DEA where with them. That would be another story. It's cool, and i under stand the shops have rules and they have to be followed. No biggy. I hope everyone has a great time and makes it home safe.
