coppering later in flower.

I am on day 49 of flower and have a few different strains showing the same kind of leaf discoloration. The edges of the leaf blades and turning brownish-copper. Also the very end of the tips are pointed up or folded backwards over themselves. This seems to be starting on the tops.

B'cuzz coco
day 49 flower
R/0 Water
BOtanicare nutes (PBP bloom, Sweet, Calmag or 3D Calcium, Hydroplex last 2 weeks) stopped using Liquid karma on day 40.
900 PPM
6.0-6.4 pH (been 6.0 except for a day or two it climbed to 6.4)
Drip to waste 3x a day.
600W HPS
68-80 temps
20% humidity

I switched the nutes around a bit by dropping the calmag to lower the Nitrogen this late in flower, but replaced it with 3D Calcium instead. This was about 3 days ago. These problems were likely present before the nute switch.
Any of you Gurus willing to shed some light? muchos gracias

Hmmm...maybe a phosphorous deficiency. The plant uses lots of it during flowering so it tends to happen. 900ppm seems like a good amount. What strain is this? If its a 65 or less train you only have two weeks to go and you will be flushing I wouldn't worry about it.

I have absolutely no experience with coco, take my response as a half grain of salt...really. I just noticed no one has tried to help yet...

I know NOTHING about coco as you know inreply But if that were my plant I'd back down a bit on the bloom booster. I generally run a ppm of 500 (@700 conversion) of CalMag all the way through flower and when I tried to stop my hydro guy yelled at me. So I use it all the way through. It just looks a bit heavy on the hydroplex imo......but again....coco.....

I just looked at your other thread as well. Someone mentioned heat.....a few of those photos do appear heat stressed but I also would totally agree with highlander to flush the system of excess ferts/salts etc. I have no idea how you would flush in coco but I'm sure someone who uses it knows.

good luck.

Kinder- thanks for checking in. Answer or not, at least i know they're folks out there. I am growing Shark Shock and Power Plant and they seem to want to finish at very different times. So it will be a challenge figuring out the flush since they are on the same rez. I am already hand-flushing one of them!

Highlander- thanks for sharing the observation. I too thought it looked like an early Calcium, but it looks nothing like the later calcium. Hope you are right and it is not going to progress.

Mrs.Hound- Whether you know diddly about coco or not, i always appreciate you sharing the wisdom. Seeing as i started off using your feed schedule over a year ago, I place much value in your tips(and leaf tips). So thank you.
Yeah it could definitely be an overload of the Plex. This is hands down my most success to date, and i may have gotten a little carried away trying to squeeze the most out of them as i can. Never have i had plants look as happy as they do on day 51 of flower! I decided last night to give them a mini flush and then feed them a nice light 650ppm'er. Try to keep it conservative from here on out.

Time to find a new hydro guy. Your current hydro guy is just trying to pimp calmag. Glad you're sticking around, BTW.

Sorry for hijacking your thread, inreply.

Sorry but he's one thing I won't bec changing. He's my constant source of endless information and has never steered me wrong in the four years I have known him. He's taught me a huge amount amount growing and saved my crop more than once when I have run into trouble. I totally love the guy.

Does anyone know of a nice calmag alternative that has little/no nitrogen for R/O use later in flower?

I have pretty dark leaves for day 50 in flower. I am flushing some, but some are looking to need quite a bit longer.

I know that 3D sells a calcium supplement along with a separate micro and they could likely be used together.

Inreply.....I just noticed your room humidity. I wonder if that is doing anything with your leaf tips. Can you get it down a bit?

growright- I have heard that the leaf tips pointing up is also a sign of mag. deficiency. Is this true? Thanks for letting me know it is a calcium sign. I could be mistaken.

Hound i think you may have ingested a bit too much this evening ;) because the humidity says around 20%. I have read you like to keep yours at thirty so i am sure i am not too high. Maybe a little low, but i water so often i don't think its an issue. Do you? Thanks for taking another look. you da bomb

LOL! You are absolutely right inreply I was looking at the room temps. What a goober! Thanks for correcting me on that.

I thought mag def showed as striping. What's the deficiency with very regular striping pattern? I always thought it was magnesium def.
