Cooltubes and cfm

If I wanted to cool 2 x 600 watt cooltubes in a row with a 6" fan, how much cfm do i need to push threw them? The room has air conditioning and stays around 74f.

I think Il be allrite if I blow 200 cfm threw each lite, so thats 400 cfm for 2 ofem. Its prolly a bit of overkill but I'd rather have more than less. I'm gonna make a manifold and stick it on a 12" 1200 cfm fan and split it into 3 x 6" flexlines to cool 6 x 600 watt hps's. I have the lights hangin vertically, stacked by the 2, one on top of the other. So 3 columns of 2 lights each. That sounds pretty good don't it?

I managed 2 1ks Y'd off with an active air inline 6" well. One 6" cool tube and one cobra predator 8 reduced to 6. Only thing is I used mostly rigid ducting, just a little flex next to the hoods.

If both are on the same run one will got hotter than the other.

Are you saying you either want to get one 12", or three 6" fans and trying to decide?

I had 9 400's in cool tubes with just a six inch maxx fan and it kept the glass cool to the touch.
The ducting was not rigid and we used the heat in the winter to heat the house somewhat, can't waste that heat. it was set up as three rows of three lights so plenty of ducting bends in a 8x8 tent. probably too much light but they were dimmable

Lot's of 400's honestly seems like the most efficient setup to me, especially if you sog or scrog. Seems like alot of ballasts though too purchase!

I know for 600w you can get a splitter and run 2 of them off a 1000. If they made them for two 400s, that plugs into a 600 or like 3 in a 1000, that would be awesome! With a built in timer that can flip from two 400 bulbs over to two more 400s in another room.

A super smart ballast plug that can do it all, I like where this is going lol

Im gonna go with 1 1200 cfm fan. I think I mite have to vent it outside. I was gonna blow it up the chimney but maby 1200 cfm blow in up my chimney ain't a good idea. I don't have to worry bout smell cause I'm pulling air in from outside the room for the lights. I'd just rather blow it up out the chimney but thats a lot of air.

Sounds good with a good 3 way manifold to control the flow.

Maybe you could run a duct up through the chimney, piece by piece?. And add a damper box blowing out of the stove area, complete with with an LCD panel or old laptop, and a wood stove fire screensaver crackling away in the winter for warmth :) The bricks mass would help to hold heat in too.
