I have been going over all of my cooling options given my electrical setup.
I have access to 2 15 amp sockets and 1 20 amp.
I am running 2 4x8 tents one with about 1200W and another with 1400W that I can make 1100W via dimming. They are both in the same room(Lung room). I also have a veg tent which I plan to use 200w of lighting.
When in flower I am going to run them during opposite times and if I want to Veg one of the flower rooms it will run at about 500-600W. This puts my max light usage at:
600+1200+200 = 2000W.
The lung room has a central AC vent(no zone) that does help with cooling from outside. While I will lose some CO2 from this I am okay with this because it makes seasonal adjustment unnecessary especially in a basement.
Current Setup:
Worst of the worst - A 8k BTU Single Hose Portable AC. This is currently setup to only turn on when temps in either tent are too high. While this has worked great at temp control it isn't efficient, it loses CO2, and leaks smells. The only reason this works is because this is a basement that gets help from a 4 Ton central AC when it is warm.
Things I can't do:
Window AC - Basement windows are larger but are secured with wrought iron and a slider in front and have been blacked out and double insulated.
Mini-Split - I am planning on moving farther out to get a larger grow and also don't want to drill through the foundation. I would like to be able to take whatever I buy with me. (Maybe put a mini-split condenser in the garage.
Things I am considering:
Water Chiller in the garage with Ice Boxes in the lung room and/or tents and reservoir in the lung room. The more I research these the more I like them. I could even reduce the the flow of central AC if I got a 1/2 HP unit. It looks like you can daisy chain them too so I wanted to add more in the future it would be easy.202873
Window AC Box with the vents for the compressor piped into the garage(my portable AC does the same).
Dual Hose Portable AC - add another ducting hole and pipe it into the garage. Movincool or Whytner.
Regarding the garage. I can leave one of the doors slightly ajar and it prevents humidity and temp build up.
