cooling air pulled from inside the house

My temps are sitting between 80 and 87 degrees right now.. not to happy with that and would like to get them down to a constant 80 if possible. Current setup is im pulling air from inside the house that is around 78-80 and venting hot air from the lights / room into a separate room that keeps the hot air in it. Im using a stanley blower for intake so size of the intake fan isnt the problem. My problem seems to be the air coming into the room isn't cool enough to drop temps. An A/C isn't really an option for me for cost reasons. Can anyone think of any way to cool the intake air without an A/C ? Either a cheap or free way would be great.

To be specific, we need more info. Whats the size of the room? How many watts? Does the light(s) have it's own cool air intake or does is suck air from the room?

In general, you could always upgrade your ventillation but this won't give you the dramatic results of an a/c. Don't bother with "desktop" A/Cs, they're not worth their weight in potatoes.

What ever you do, don't buy a portable AC...If you live in the states, check out CL for a used AC or the thrifty section of your local newspaper.

I know you are wanting some thing free or better ideas, but the temp will only get as cool as the temp that's coming in....Good luck

Cool the res and not the plants.

a fan blowing across the water can drop the res 10 degrees.

what size light??

A window AC can be had for #100.

What is on the walls of your growroom? If it's mylar, take that down and paint the walls flat white. Mylar reflects heat as well as light. White paint reflects almost as well as mylar but will absorb and then dissipate the heat. If the room that holds the hot air is adjacent to your grow room, cover that wall with mylar, that will help reflect heat away from the wall, and keep it from transferring into your grow room.

The fact that your blower is a Stanley doesn't really mean much. How many cfm is it? How many cubic feet in your grow room? How many lights & watts? What's the size and configuration of your ducting?

As far as cheap or free cooling goes, I mean really, that almost qualifies this as a troll thread. Probably the best you can hope for is a couple degrees cooler by taking some remedial measures.

Good luck!
