Hi all, here is a trick to have a little greenhouse on your seedlings that acts as an anti mouse, anti slug, anti bird protection:
get some disposeable transparent pint glasses,
take them to the spot, cut a hole in the bottom of one of them with scissors... and now for the clever bit: stick two of them together by the drinking end, take a lighter, and glue them together by melting them abit and pinching with your finger... repeat the same thing on the other end, and hey presto, you have the same as bringing 10 drinking bottles on the site even though it took the same place as a single one.
no need for any slug and mouse protections for 20 days after the seed germs until it's nice and big, and it's warmer, because it's in a greenhouse.
Another trick is to make a hole in the flat bit at the top, so that it drains water into the plant zone.
