Cool lighters? Favorite Lighters? No More Bics.

Man I'm going to write Bic an angry letter about their degrading quality of lighters.

About 8-10 yrs ago Bics contained a decent quality butane and had about a 1/4 inch flame. Todays bic has this 1/2 inch flame that you can't cut good greens with on a bowl because its flips around wildly because of the size of the flame. But worse than that I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed the quality of bic butane is horrible now. if you press the gas button or smell it when its lit the smell is horrible. Like a bic fart. after about 2 hits the herb is drowned in low quality butane residue.

So I bought this 3 buck adjustable flame lighter that is refillable and I like it much better. flame is the right size, fluid is much cleaner, I get better taste and the cashing hit isn't so bad. but it ran out and I'm having a hell of a time finding Colibiri or other clean N based butane in town now for some reason. all they got is RONSON :fsu: which is probably what is in bics to begin with. its dirty as all hell.

Any one else give up on BICS buy a new lighter? I'd like to buy a nice one for less than 50 bucks but it seems all anyone wants to sell online are torch lighters for like 100-300 bucks. All I can say is I never knew they still had that many free basers with so much money to blow. I don't want a crack lighter I'm lookin for a normal adjustable butane lighter with clean butane.

If you guys don't know the difference with butane... I know it seems crazy. its just fuel. But if you've ever made hippy crack (BHO/hash oil/ honey oil) you know how important it is to use clean butane. Clean fuels when burned to a glass leave very little residue. barely visible and its clear. When you put a bic flame to glass it leaves that thick black soot like what is left around your bowl. That stuff is coating your weed fucking up the taste and your inhaling it. Clean butane is something you'll notice immediately if your a seasoned smoker with clean pipes.

Get yourself a Clipper...you'll never look back.

They are refillable, the flame starts out normal size and when tipped upside down gets bigger for better lighting of bowls...and the flint part is removable giving you a handy little stick to poke down your spliffs with.

Using a bic, hold flame 1/8" away from herb, no contact, just heat...

or a small torch from wallyworld does me well..

Yeah, I usually hold the flame out away from the lighter and sorta pull the heat in with my breath; it usually heats the corner just enough to get a cherry going. Besides, Bic makes some pretty swheet lighter designs IMO. Here is one of their medium-sized w/ a cool solar design. I dig it.

colibri is by far the best way to go...one of the electro quartz ones ta boot.

no flint nasty cancerous material to smoke, and you can put high quality colibri fluid in it so as to get a nice clean tasteand smoke.

yeah the cheap-0 one I'm using now is an electric start I like it. Colibiri lighters are nice but I don't want to dish out too much.

bongasauras I like your lighter. thats like what I'm looking for.

I may just keep buying these cheap ones and refilling it till they break.

about using the heat not the flame with bics. your still inhaling the nasty fuel just not as much, but I do at least 1/2 of my smoking outside so using the heat isn't really an option. you need the flame or the bowl won't light in the breeze.

i dont smoke and drive or anything but car lighters work the best for joints you could inhale all the way on the first hit with no funny taste. I wanna invent a car style cigarette lighter thats small like a regular lighter
