Ive been collecting my vaped weed and the majority looks brown to dark brown , was wondering is it possible to make butter out of it and if so how much butter do I add?
I usually use about 30g of vaped material into 4 sticks of butter.... It really all depends on how much you vape the herb before you save it.... I know im gonna cook with it so i only run 3-5 bags per pack in my volcano so not all the THC is vaped away before cooking...
i never really measured, i just filled this small jar with vaped herb to 1 stick of butter in water for 30 mins (uncovered). throw it in a jar then in the fridge over night
always makes pretty stony rice krispies, which is what i would suggest to use it with.
or something else that you dont have to heat the butter too much, i feel like it ruins it a bit in the oven.
Vaped stuff works great, the amount of butter you'd add really depends on how strong you want your butter . I stick to about an equal volume of cooking oil (or butter if that's what I'm making) to well packed vaporized herb. But I also tend to do large batches & combine them so I can get a consistent dosage.
Vaped herb into oil definitely has a different high than fresh dried. The taste reminds me of walnut oil.
I've made budder from vaped weed. It absolutely works....but the high is 100% different.
I can't say it's better or worse....just different. The content and chemical composition of the remaining stuff in the vaped weed is obviously going to be different than unvaped nugs, trim, shake....etc.
It's going to have alot of the stuff remaining that is only released when burned/carbonized. The stuff that comes off easy with a bit of heat won't be left over. So the characteristics of the high are going to be determined by that group of residual THC, cannibanoids, and other chemicals that contribute to the feeling of being high or stoned.
Having had them both, I'd say I prefer budder made from regular nugs, trim, etc. It's more of a "complete" stone IMHO. However, the budder made from vaped weed is and can be incredibly stoney......something not to take for granted.

I agree with this assessment of vaped weed butter. I find it to be heavier and more physical than butter made with fresh bud, with less of a psychoactive component. People who want to feel physically sedated but not superhigh might prefer it. I use some vaped weed in my butter, but I like at least 2 parts fresh bud to 1 part vaped.
As for how much butter to add, a good rule of thumb is to use only enough butter to evenly coat the vaped weed on low heat in a pan without forming any pools of excess butter. Then add water and simmer as usual. This will give you a small amount of strong butter that tastes horrible. You'll want to keep the amount of butter small because it tastes so bad. The easiest way to consume it is to slug it down in a cup of espresso. I don't recommend cooking with it because it tastes awful.
