Assuming its flower
You can decarb the cannabis at 240f (115c) for 40 minutes
This will "activate" the cannabis
You can break it up and sprinkle it on some toast or use a double boiler and mix with butter for a minimum of 20-30 minutes, some go as long as 3 hours hence the double boiler
It will have a "plant" taste
You can buy some gel caps and grind the flower to dust and fill the capsule

I do these all the time for friends. Any cracker (I used Ritz). Peanut butter (most people claim that real organic works better than the commercial stuff like Jiffy), and weed.
Usually about a half a gram (about the same as a joint).
Decarb the weed. Mix it with the PB on a cracker. Wrap them in foil and heat in oven.
