cooking a book (Tasty recipes!)

in the early spring of 2001 i read a jimmy buffet book called something like "a pirate looks at fifty" for my english class.
this was when i was watching a show called "good eats" and working on "projects" in the kitchen taken from instructions inspired by Alton Brown.

i was teaching myself how to "cook" using only my vcr and brodband connection.
most everyjuan i knew only understood how to play games or browse porn on the machines we had in the media labs at sacramento VAPAC highschool. i was taking judo after school two times a week and throwing myself pretty hard at the MEDIA PRODUCTION regional occupational course on site at the school.
i had been certified a year earlier ahead of my class and had stayed on to help the (legally) blind instructor fix up the studios as the kids were trashing them.

the experience was priceless. i owe uncle same big juan for i t.

when i first began to study alton brown's teleivision series on educational cooking shows crohn's disease had just begun to creep up on me.

i was at school more than 48 hours a week. when i was "resting" from my course load at home i could often be found studying online or playing "metal gear solid" when i couldn't be hard at work in the kitchen.

i took to cooking faster than i took to photography. my first digital camera would come after years of preparing dishes for my family at home. cooking was more expensive than developing film, but film photography just isn't as rewarding. pan seared rib eye can push back a poor report card for an evening.

a bipolar family knows that there is often a "canary" somewhere in the bunch.
when the stress came on me i responded by push my efforts furthur in my "extra curricular" activites. many semesters led up to me "discovering" G.R.A.S.S. on st. valentine's day, 2002.

it was this "discovery" that finally got me my long deserved medical attention.
i was seen by a gastro enterologist and a diagnosis was made a few months after i had been expelled from my advanced courseload at sacramento high school.

i never managed to find the time to "get back in school."
i hope to take summer courses this year at a california university with some of the schoolarship funding i have availible to me, but my health is unpredictable and i am gravely disabled.

i am guilty. i cooked IT.
