Cookin with leaves?

Not sure what forum this belongs in, its sorta growin-related so hopefully this is the right place...

Anyway I have been saving my trimmings and the leaves from any males I find and now I have a rather large box of dry leaves.... I have seen people use these to make hash but i was wondering if i could use them to make some brownies? All the leaves are very dry...

I would assume i just simmer them in some butter for like 3-5hrs on low heat and then strain and use the butter for brownies... will this get me high or will i just end up with leafy-tasting non-magical brownies?

thanks!

Depends on how potent the leafs are, and males aren't going to be too potent at all. you'll want to simmer them, yes. afterwards, you can leave them in with the butter or take them out and squeeze them of their juices back into the butter. It might get you high, but you will need a whole bunch. try it and see is all I can say.

1. What is Cannabutter?
- Cannabutter is a THC extract which takes the place of regular butter.

2. How can I use Cannabutter?
- You can use it for anything that normally uses butter as an ingredient. For this site we will be using brownies as an example.

Let's BEGIN!

What's needed:

Between 1/4 and 1/2oz of some grass. Use it all, sticks, stems, etc!
A stick of butter (don't use no/low fat butter!).
2-3 Cups of water (2 cups for 1/4oz, 3cups for 1/2ounce).
An oven.
A suitable pan.
Cheesecloth.
Coffee Grinder.
Plastic cup (at least 16oz).
Brownie Mix.

Ok, Let's Get Ready to Rumble!

Get your grinder out.

Place some stash in the grinder.

Grind into a medium-fine consistency.

Mix the final grinded product in with the water/butter.
(Note, brownie recipe called for 1/4 cup of butter/vegetable oil, so between one stick of butter, a half ounce of schwag, and 3 cups of water, you should expect to see about 1/4 cup of finished product)

Crank stove to HIGH, melt butter, and let the mixture BOIL for about 5-7minutes. After boiling is complete, let simmer on low (with the top on) for about 35-45minutes. The house will smell, open some windows and light some candles.

Now, you're ready to strain the butter mix from the plant matter. The plant matter is worthless, most of the THC is gone. For this, we will use cheesecloth (found at Wal-Mart in the fabric area). Fold it over 3-4 times until you can safely place it over the top of your plastic cup. (Use MUST use a plastic cup that is able to be squeeze easily!)

You should NOT get any plant matter in the cup, after it all drains by itself (gravity), wrap the remaining mixture/cheesecloth into another 3-4 layers of cheesecloth and give it a good 20-second squeeze. This will get the remaining butter out of the plant matter. Be careful to not let any plant matter make it into the cup, this will make your brownies taste JUST like weed.

It'll look nasty, but that's ok. Place into the refrigerator OVERNIGHT. The butter will rise to the top of the plastic cup and turn fairly hard. Don't move it until it's hardened up. The waste water will be under the top layer and will still be in a very liquid form. Be careful with this, it makes a mess if you spill it, you can just throw this out.

You can definitely make brownies with the males. I had three male plants along with some trim, about 1.5 oz of dry plant material in total. I followed the Cannabutter recipe on this forum and made 2 sticks (1/2 lb) of it, which was enough for 24 brownies. Each brownie had about the same effect as half a joint. It's a good way to supply yourself until harvest time comes :joint:
