Containing Sour Diesel IBL in basement

so in my basement i need to be able to contain the smell of the IBL in the basement and not come up from the floors. i was thinking of builing a room down there big enough for the little bit i need and then layering the inside of the room with fiberglass and a carbon filter in the room and then a carbon filter out side of the room. the only thing between the basement is wood. i cant have any smell upstairs. i know some one will have some excellent advice and i will appreciate any ideas or thoughts thanks - ll84

It depends are you going to grow 6 plants or a 100

If it is a personal grow then i would just use 1 if you can afford it use 2 scrubbers

Its my favorite erb so have fun

Frame the room, use poly to wrap it and seal it. Make sure to use a good tape to seal all the seams. Gorilla tape seems to be the best I have used but even it is coming off in certain areas. Maybe use the foil tape they use on ducts.

You could also drywall the room, sealing it but that may be overkill for a few plants

Install a filter, you should be good.

I dont think fiberglass or insulation is going to help with smell. Temp and noise, yes.

maryj315 - have you ever tried to conceal 6 of these at once because that is about the size im going for my room is going to be about 5x7 probably havent quite measured it all out yet. i know i dont want more than 10 and im going to be bondaging these girls up so ill need a little extra space to move around in.

yamaha - i like your idea there. i think im going to def. seal the drywall didnt think about that. and insulating the floor there would help with noise. well i think i got a rough idea of what needs done. this week im going to have the electric run into my spot and then ill start framing out this project :) thanks for the ideas

Hey ll84, saw your post in the rez forum, glad to see you aren't being "chewed out" here lol. I believe that a vaportek would help with any the smell. I personally dont have any experience with this particular piece of equipment, but I dont see why it couldnt work for you. I would recommend what has been previously mentioned, a negative pressure room with an ample carbon scrubber is the place to start. Good luck and dont let the negative people here get to you! :rasta:

No need to make a thread about it.Just go high cfm fan 550 and up, and go bigger than normal on the filter.Im using a DIY fan 550 cfm and filter for some really stinky plants .I have fresh charcoal around just in case.

Way easier to contain in a space no bigger than 5x5x5x5.
