I just watched several video's on "contact tracing" after seeing something on a favorite website. I was unaware of this, "contact tracing" and the far reaching potential it has.

Look at what you have to do to go home to Hong Kong, a tracking bracelet that you walk around your flat and it registers your moveable space for 14 days of quarantine, with riots going on at the street level, what a nightmare. I’ve been to HK. A few times, now china is taking over, same as they did in Tibet years ago, yeah we are a civilized race...

Singapore, South Korea & other countries do a great job at it.

The question is, WHY won't it work in the US ?

might have something to do with the fact that we can't outsource it.

Contact tracing is a form of manufacturing.

Our country basically developed the concept of public health. We installed and helped to underwrite it all over post WWII. Worked well and was cost effective.

It still does work and it is effective. The places which have used it have had much lower death rates.
It is opposed by the forces which want medicine more privatized.
My spouse now deceased was an md//mph, and once worked for LA county. She spoke highly and
well of the teams of nurses that did contact tracing for TB.
