Connect HVAC to PVC?

Hey guys, doing a SOG and I want air flowing up through my plants. I thought a good way to do that would be to hook a fan up to rows of pvc placed between the plants with holes drilled in them for the air to escape.

My problem is I can't figure out how the fan would connect to the pipe.
Is there a fitting or something that would split the 4" fan into two 2" pvc pipes? I'll keep searching the nets but will also dip my cup into the community's well of knowledge. Thanks all! :tiphat:

You can use a 4 x4x4 y. Then use reducers to get each branch down. Some flex duct with hose clamps should be able to connect to it.

hm. just buy 4 inch rigid duct. it will be cheaper than pvc.

try to get 5 gore elbows... 3 gore ones tend to blow. smear mastic over all screw penetration, lab joints, and any other gaps.

big gaps require fibered mastic or a piece of fiberglass scrim.

you might consider adding balancing dampers to this whole deal, but what ever.

you are not going to push much air through a series of 1 inch tubes... this is a bad idea. just run 4" branches to where ever you want the air. you can cut the holes in the duct very easily with right angle snips... just file off the sharp edges else you WILL cut yourself.
i recommend a half moon bastard file for this.

but rigid duct doesn't get smaller than 4" and i need it to end up at 1"

Any further issues....look toward the roof gutter section of your home deco store for great ideas

but really the best method is ...passive air in, vented and filtered air out
