CONGO X PANAMA

B

blue_tick

WELL I HAVE A COUPLE QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS CROSS AS I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY REPORTS ON IT. I WILL BE GROWING HER OUTDOOR THIS SEASON.

1) FLOWER TIME ( DAYS )
2) HOW DOES SHE TAKE THE NUTRIENTS LIKE THE PANAMA OR SHOULD IT BE ON THE LIGHTER SIDE. I WILL BE AMENDING SOIL AND GROW IN 100 GALLON POTS AND A WATER ONLY MIX.

THESE MIGHT BE QUESTIONS THE MAN HIMSELF CAN ONLY ANSWER BUT WAS CURIOUS.

first go with this. never grown either one before so i guess it will be a learning experience .
how is the structure of the girl you have going. looks like the congo likes to put grow a main top from the few pix i have seen. i am thinking about vegging her for a while in smaller pot (2g) then when i put her in the 100 lay her on her side and keep her tied down for side branches to grow straight up but i am not sure this cross will like it. i have talk to tangwena about the malawi this way but just not sure about this one. i guess time will tell. my panama x malawi and angola x panama will be grown this way as i know she likes to branch

Is this in test or have the seeds been released for sale? Inquiring minds want to know - I don't know that I have heard of them before. Sounds ever so cool! Thanks!

Oh this is going to be nice. Love watching you grow the big sativas flboy.

Are you you going to do a true horizontal plant or just tying them down.
and by "true" I mean actually burying the plant and allowing the side branches to grow roots and act as the main growth stalk.

Good luck this year my friend and may all your Buds be Huge.

Im sure it will grow into a very large plant, that's for sure.Congo looks like it could be a bit thinner branched. Though mine is only young.

I AM GOING TO LET THEM GET SOME SIZE TO THEM IN SMALLER POTS THEN WHEN I UP THEM INTO THE 100'S I WILL LAY THEM ON THERE SIDE AND KEEP TYING THE TOP DOWN TILL IT'S TIME FOR THE STRETCH AND LET THEM GO. AS FAR AS LETTING THE BRANCHES TO GROW ROOTS NEVER SEEN THAT DONE BUT SOUNDS INTERESTING FOR SURE. BUT I AM WONDERING IF THEY WILL NEED SUPPORT FROM THE BOTTOM LIKE A BANANA HAMMICK LOL . THIS SHOULD BE A REAL SEA OF GREEN. LAST SEASON THE HEIGHT WORRIED ME A BIT. IF I CAN 4 OR 5 PLANTS IN LIKE THIS AND END UP ONLY BEING 8 TO 10 ' IT WILL HAVE ME MORE AT EASE THAN THE 14' PLUS LAST TIME. I WILL BE BUSTIN THE BEANS THIS WEEKEND SO THING'S WILL BE GOING SOON

Hi Flboy this will be fun to watch, nice strains and crosses. Good to try the laying down method on them.
You will end up with a massive plant for sure. My Panama I revegged in the summer sun then lay down and vegged outside is now under lights and stretching like mad. But making lots of foot long colas, all the branches are roughly the same hight and full of bud site along their whole length.
I think she will fill my grow box up on her own, some nice buds on the way in a couple of months.
It will be interesting to hear your comments when you get metre long colas on every branch. I cant wait to see the pics.
Good year coming your way my friend. Respect!

HOPE ALL BEEN GOOD FOR YOU. WILL THESE NEED TO BE BRACED UP FROM BELOW OR DO YOU THINK THEY WILL STAY UP OFF THE GROUND ON THERE OWN. I PLAN ON SINKING THE POT TO WHERE THEY ARE A FOOT OFF THE GROUND. POST THE PANAMA YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT IN ACTION. DO IT HERE SO I DON'T MISS IT BRO.

Hey flboy, Here is a link to the method I was talking about. The late Silverback thread brought it back to my attention. It is a very old technique used for lot's of different plants. I used this many many years ago doing landscaping bushes and forgot about it till I read this thread.

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=81797

I tried it last year with one of my Bangi Haze. It was late in the season for this method, and my short season didn't allow the Bangi to finish, but they did root and where growing nicely.
here's some pics

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showpost.php?p=7092617&postcount=151

There was also a great thread about tying/training that I was trying to find, but no luck. This guy had a blueberry plant that was 30 ft. wide and no more than 6 ft. tall, just amazing.

Anyway I'm going to try and combine the two techniques this season on a few plants.

Peace GG

GOOD READ MY FRIEND. THANKS FOR THE LINK. I MIGHT GIVE THIS A TRY. THE ONLY THING I WOULD WORRY ABOUT IS THE BUGS (ANTS) MOSTLY. I WILL BE SPRAYING BACILLUS AND WHAT NOT. I WILL READ ALL OF IT AND GET A BETTER PIX OF IT IN MY HEAD

THANKS GG
