Conflicted...I was planning on a cheap vacation in a few weeks. Just a relatively inexpensive camping trip for a week, but doing so means leaving my flowering tent empty for almost a month (not interested in leaving it running while I am away) and frankly I am not sure I can afford the downtime, especially when I have almost a dozen clones in veg that are ready to be put in there.

While it would be nice to get away and explore a new area, Im also ok with just staying home for that week as I have plenty of things to do here to catch up on...

Stay home and implement automation upgrades for next years vacation.

I use these, Hozelock Aquasolo (medium for 6.5l pots). I don't want pumps and that, I tried blumats but didn't like those neither. So been using these when I go away, you can get different sizes, and put a 500ml-2l bottle full of feed. Soak the ceramic for an hour and a 1 litre bottle lasts 4 days approx. slowly releasing the feed, then obv feed them on way out door to. Do shorter breaks or test 2 litre bottles. Hope it helps, keep on growing :)

Kewl :tiphat: and if rigged to a ??? 10 gallon rez that feeds the bottle, it could last for weeks. Feeding nute mix though, might have a clogging issue over time? Like air stones clog.

Isn't that reinventing the blumat, just without the flow control?

If just clones are involved, up potting can easily get you a week to go on vacation.

Potting up is good advice, I am doing exactly that in 2 weeks time for a weekend away.. Its just all about planning.. You should never let your plants stop you from going away, but you should never stop growing hehe

And yeah the blumat junior works the same if you wanted a reservoir, more hassle though. And I don't like the results from this way of feeding personally, its always guess work.. I just lob a bottle in the pot and go chill on holiday  Then back to hand watering as I don't have many to feed

I run into this issue when I go on vacations. Just take the time off. It can ruin a good time worrying about plants. The seeds will be there when you get back.as far as the clones, if it's a week only, I would repot (if the roots are ready) in oversized pots and drench the soil. Leave em under flouros to keep the heat and evaporation down. They should be fine although it'll be close before the soil dries out

Could do both.

Once I left some seedlings in a bucket for about 4 weeks while I was out of town. Under a 175 watt Metal Halide of the 1990 vintage.

They were in a 5 gallon bucket of beach sand. I washed the sand to remove the salt.

For nutes they had water with maybe some 'plant food' from the drug store.

Came home and they were 5 beautiful hashy Indica plants. Somehow the water lasted.
