Concert For Bangladesh

I'm just slippin in the DVD of The Concert For Bangladesh with George Harrison and friends. I love this movie! What a line-up....George, Ringo, Bob Dylan, Leon Russell, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston....plus another 10 stellar rock 'n rollers from the 60's and 70's. The concert starts off with about 30 minutes of intense Indian music...sitar and other strange other-worldly sound makers.

Any one else dig this movie?

Hell yeah, but have you ever heard the Concert Against Bangladesh?
But seriously, that is a damn good concert. An incredible performance by all.
Have you seen Concert for George? Incredible line up also. Jeff Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra) sounds spot on with "If I needed someone."

Rock on, one of my favorite concerts on dvd if I must say so.

No, man, I haven't been privy to The Concert Against Bangladesh. But I did get to see a knock off of it, it was called "The Concert Rubbing Against Bangladesh," it was a soft porn making the rounds of the drive-in theaters back in the late 70's. :D

Yeah, I have seen The Concert For George. It was superb, ****in great.

I also enjoyed The Last Waltz. Neil Young with a nug of coke hanging out in the corner of his nose. I love The Band. Was glad to hear the Levon Helm's throat problems got better so he can sing again.

the last waltz ****ing rocks. Concert for Bangladesh is crap. its just a bunch of strung out rock stars thrown together on stage jerking off in our ears

I noticed something in the movie that made me laugh....right at the end of the concert, when George and the boys are starting to play the song "Bangaladesh," George is walking towards his microphone, but looking backwards over his shoulder at some of his bandmates, and then he turns back to face the audience. He didn't realize how close the microphone was, and got totally surprised that it was RIGHT IN HIS FACE when he turned to face the audience. His face registered a look of surprise that is frequently accompanied by a scream/shout of the "aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!" variety. I'm sure he managed to avoid letting the noise happen though, if he had, the microphone would have picked it up, being right in his face. Unless....I wonder if they edited the movie and got rid of the scream?

Yeah, I recently bought the Last Waltz, that is incredible. Great performances by all, definitely a bonus to the collection. Two of my favorite concerts are from the Isle of Wight though. Nothing is Easy by Jethro Tull, Clive Bunker on the drums....awesome drum solo. Short but good, specially if you like Tull. And Emerson, Lake and Palmer at the Isle of Wight. Incredible performance by an incredible band, they really stole the show. I also like the old man talking about "young people ****ing in the bushes." :muahaha:

Oh, and Concert against Bangladesh was on the Simpsons. Had a mushroom cloud on the cover.
