agro, go to the compaq site, and you can do a live chat with a customer service rep. they've got all the info you need there.

otherwise you'll have find out what motherboard it uses and look up the specs for that.

i would go for the 1gb sticks myself
-i just saw (2) 1gb sticks for less than the 2gb stick on ebay

-not actually sure why it wouldnt work, but the 2x 1gb route is cheaper, and is virtually the same

Each memory slot (2) can hold DDR2 PC2-4200 with a maximum of 1GB per slot. That's from manufacturer specifications.

I just used the info you gave to look it up. But ya they could of used older sticks to get rid of old stock.

$268.59 from Crucial's site for 2 X 1GB sticks. Guaranteed compatible memory they say...

Go to Start,All programs,Accessories,System tools,System information, look at the fourth one up from the bottom to where it says Total Virtual Memory...And it should say how much memory it will hold.. If you are running Windows XP...Mine Says 2 Gigabytes but i only have 1 Gigabyte...If yours says 2 gigs than you dont have anything to worry about...As long as it is compatible with you computer...I hope this helps...PEACE

whats the difference in the ddr2 or 400mhz? ebay has
CORSAIR ValueSelect 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit - Desktop Memory. for a penny os something. ebay ram yea i have 2 gig max but i dont think it can handle a 2 gig in 1 slot, but it can a 1 gig in 2 slots.
