Hello all

Has anyone seen or played around with home automation systems using a PC/MAC to control a grow? I am looking for info and feedback on any adventures or rather mis adventures some of you out there may have had.

I wouldn't use that to control a grow, I would use a standalone dedicated industrial system like a PLC. I guess that a PC/MAC would work.. but if you look at greenhouses, they dont use home automation systems to control environment.

growtronix is very unstable. I bought it and only use it to take temp and humidity readings now. It has a memory leak which locks up the machine after a few days. It cannot be relied upon to do anything serious.

A lot of money just to look at temp and humidity.

And DJ the one man band owner is a complete anus.

i have not used this but have seen it in play with a reeftank at a local saltwater supply store and dont see why it could not be used for hydroponics.
