Vent,...a 4" fan bought used. scrog material from back of filter packs. The pots are the 6". The medium is Soil. The Seeds are freebie BLOCKHEAD!!! :chin: :yummy: :chin: . I have nothing but scrog experience so training will be no problem. Here is a picture. The temps are about 84-86f.nutes will be pbp, liquid kharma , big bud or koolbloom. neem , and sm-90 as needed.
all this made up from local home stores. no hydro store needed for this one. :dueling:

Enough watts? I am not shure either this is my first cfl scrog grow. reason scrog is preety low is to have enough room above for the nugs. I got about 11 or 12 inches to work with above the scrog. the temps where checked today and maintain at 81.6 f. now. 24hrs for two weeks then go into 12/12. we will see if it works.thanks for stoping in folks.

very nice small cab a hint about cfl's if you can change the fixtures them bulb's are in and hang them at a 90 degree angle to the plants tops they'll love ya for it. alot of ppl think the sweet spot for a cfl is the tip of the bulb not so look at your bulb you'll see more light from the side of the bulb produced then from the tip. now here's what i do w/sprial cfl's he he learned this trick on OverGrow dot com after i hang them at 90 deg to plants tops i take a price of tin foil yes tin foil. i take a section lenght from inside of ballast to inside tip of coil, ok take this foil roll it DULL side out and wedge between ballast and tip of coil. now instead of the light bouncing off itself inside the coil then reaching out it hit's the foil and reflects out imeditlly. now to concentrate this new intensity of light i make a foil reflecter dull side facing the bulb. i make this peice of foil cover from edge of ballast { Dont cover the ballast } to tip of coil dull side facing the bulb and covering half way around the bulb just leave bottom half exposed. now your lighting has been intensified and directed properly towards the plants, i use Dull side of tinfoil because it dosent hold as much heat as shiney side. to keep heat from building up around plants top i have a small 3 inch fan blown across the ballasts and bulbs

here's my cfl's and lighting i also have a 400w hps im gonna adapt into the top of a cab soon he he. i use a hanging work under hood of car type light fixture from wal mart i removed the reflector so i could use a Y adaptor for the socket. each of my light's hold 2 sprial cfl's each my 2 small 3in fans arent showen here but i have em lol

my sprial cfls are 45w=150w@2900 lumens each
the fluro's are 40w each@1275 lumens each they burn blueish
400w hps is 50,000 lumens

as for your unsure if ya have enough lighting here ya go

To determine how many lumens per square foot you have: Find out the square footage of your space. Width x Depth = Square feet. Divide the lumens available by your square footage. This will give you lumens per square foot. Example: Say your space is 3 feet deep by 4 feet wide, 12 square feet. The total lumens available from your light(s) is 45000 lumens. 45000/12 = 3750 lumens per square foot.

Now for the big question. How much light do I need? Technology has advanced so much in the last 15 years that we are constantly refining the process and updating what we know works best for growing. Current theory holds that the minimum amount of lighting needed to sustain growth is around 2000 lumens per square foot. Mid range is around 5000 lumens per square foot. Optimal is 7000-7500, or higher, lumens per square foot.

Hello,

Dude-get some reflectors on those cfl's. You are wasting so much of your precious light.

Look around for something to use as a reflector-a parabolic cone is good like the top of a 3 liter soda bottle painted white or something.

Home depot has clip-on reflectors for about 8 bux-pricey but effective.

I was looking at plastic bowls from the dollor store-I would of course have to alter them but they had the shape and size I was looking for.

Nice cab-not trying to pee on your parade. I have a simillar cab that is in the design stage. It is an old Panasonic stereo system cab circa 1990's. Solidly built with mdf-it has great potential other then the trash heap.

Just my thoughts man-good luck friend.

major pot head and minds 1 , you two have some very good points that need to be looked into . i have the chrome shades that came with , just too big. I could trim them way down .. There are smaller chrome clip lighs., but they dont contain the massive cfls. the shade just covers the ballast, but would reflect light back down. also the point about at angle makes sense. I dont wanna spend any more money on fixtures. It will be a pain in the ass to yank out the males but I will just folow to the branch to the soil and cut, then remove all brtanches tied down. I know it will be a pain but i wanna try blockhead in here.btw my hands can fit under the screen and above.I got plenty of green bag ties.

Its all good man.

Like I said-look into using the top portion of 2 or 3 liter bottles-you will have to be creative in fashioning them to fit. I certainly understand the money issue.

Good luck friend.
