Compact HPS Lighting Systems

hey guys. i did a little search on these and didnt find much info. not to many people use these but maybe i was missing sumthing. they seem great for people with a tight budget still wanting to use HID lamps. does anyone on here have any experience with these type of lamps. do they get loud?

Can't find it now, there's a site (thought it was econolight) that sells 250HPS security systems for dirt cheap. Maybe another reader can link you up.

econolight has 150w hps for 20 they also 250w and 400w and others but there more exspesive like 80+ econolight is probly one of the cheapest website if ur willing to wire the ballast urself u can find cheaper ones then on the link u provided its eazy to wire the ballast and they give u a blueprint of the wiring iv seen a few ppl useing the 250w but the ppl usin them didnt call them compact hps there a normal hps ballast and bulb they just are not remote ballast so u will have high temps i hope that helps

I just installed a 150 hps vaportight from econolight. $20 for the light, $8 for an extension cord, $2 for wire-cap connectors, and 1 hour of time. Cant beat 1 hour and $30 for a 150hps.

Weed is $500+ an ounce...why think so small? One year of buying from dealers $$$ = very good grow equipment.

i was thinkin of using the 250 watter for 199.99

hey thanks man. i really liked the systems i saw because i am a first timer with growing.. i have no ballast, no bulb, no reflector... NOTHING. the 250 compact system is all in one. instead of paying for each separately and wind up paying more. im not really into the diy thing wen it comes to electrical stuff

umm... not quite sure where ur going with this but i dont sell weed man. it was really never meant for commercial success. i jus smoke. so selling for grow equipment is out of the question.

theres theads on here that show u how to tak the security lights and make them into grow light u just gota tak it apart and make the wires longer if u can follow color and put a wire nut on it then u can follow the threads and dyi urself one you can make ur own reflecter home depot lowes almost any hardware store has pretty much everything you could ever need to build i whole grow set up and theres threads on this site that show u how with pics the threads make it very eazy if u buy a security light then u get the bulb and ballast in one package or u can buy them both sepertly just make sure u get the same watt bulb as u do ballast and make sure u get a hps ballast if u get the econolight 150 then search for the vaportight thread and it has alot pics showing u how you can buy the prebuild stuff but it will cost more if you would like pm me and i will type u up a shoping list of stuff u need and help u find the threads u need i just like to save as much money as i can

oh great thanks hippi hill. i cant quite pm you yet as i dont have 50 posts yet, which sucks. but would you still be willing to help with the shopping list. i was thinkin and i think im gonna go with your idea. the 150 watt is cost effective and gives less heat. which i dont want to really have a problem with on my first go round lol. could you jus show me all the things i would need. and from where. also how will i make the reflector? is there a thread for that to? ill do some searching. thanks again by the way. :friends:
