Commercial grade humidifier shopping - recommendations?

I'm renovating one of my rooms next month and really looking to dial in the environmentals. I'm swapping 20 air cooled lights to all Dimlux, installing a 5 ton ac, and want to raise my humidity.

The room is sealed, roughly 20' x 25' x 10' tall.

My current humidity with a full room is 45-55% at 85 degrees. I want to raise my humidity to 65-70%.

I will be burning sulfur on a weekly basis along with running a phi cell unit so mold/pm are not a concern, and I'd rather this thread not go in that direction.

I've seen a few humidifiers online for around $300 but I'm not sure if they will get the job done. If anybody has any recommendations on a particular brand/model or knowledge on what size my room needs it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

I would go with mile high on this. I just dropped one into my room and it works fantastic.

With an EOS 1 controller on it, it has been worry free.

I used a 12 disc ultrasonic fogger system from houseofhydro.com. can dial in my rh near perfect to match my VDP. Used about 2.5gal/day on 4.5v fan setting.

You will need to size your equipment to remove peak humidity conditions. When plants are the thirstiest, how much water will they drink on the worst day? 5 gallons per 16ft2 of canopy is a number some use. Your 5 ton ac can remove around 300 pints per day. Dehueys inherently add heat when they remove moisture. I own 3 quest 155 units ( 2 for flower and 1 for veg)and they produce about 10,000 btu/hr. This heat factors into the design. More ac required. My flower room requires about 300 pints per day removal capacity. I have the capacity in dehueys but in reality, one unit works by heating the room and the ac unit removes the rest. The second dehuey becomes redundant. ( good thing for such a mission critical piece of equipment)

I don't understand why quest or others don't list their heat output. I had to send emails and learned how to calculate the heat output by the energy factor number they do give.

I chose quest for their ability to be ducted. Quest, Santa Fe and Ultra Aire are all made by thermastor. They have a good rep as far as I've heard.

Sorry, i re read the initial post. You're asking about humidity. Maybe try the sunlight supply 75 pint humidifier

That Farmtec one and the 75 pint Ideal Air are too small ... you'd probably need 2 or 3 of them to get the humidity up to the levels your talking in the space you're working with.

I checked out the ideal air units along with the houseofhydro ultrasonic units, both look solid. The ultrasonic 12 disc looks pretty rad but seems like it might require more maintenance than the ideal air. I also couldn't find any information in regards to sizing on the ultrasonic.

Right now I'm leaning towards the Ideal Air. The 200 pint is rated for 1100 - 1600 square feet. I do like the idea of going with an oversized unit paired up with a controller so that it doesn't have to run constantly.

This will be my first time installing a humidifier in a room. Where would you typically mount it? I'm guessing as close to the center of the room as possible is best, is this accurate? And do you typically hang the unit from the ceiling or set it on the ground? Any preventative steps I should take so that the humidity doesn't mess with the components in my new lights/ballasts?

Thanks for all the help so far boys. Looking forward to that perfect vapor pressure deficit!

I put mine on the floor, below a fan so the mist could circulate better.

If your tap water ppm is high, you might want to consider a RO system, but isn't necessary.

I just keep all mine on the floor in a corner of the room pointing toward a fan and that does the trick. Just make sure you don't point it directly at your plants or electrical components and you'll be fine.

Best deal I've found on the 200 pint Ideal Air
