COLORADO RESIDENTS , Help me move to CO !!

Ok plan on moving to a more cannabis friendly place, Colorado.
Need info on:
1. Best spots to live? (thinking Boulder or Denver)
2. Laws both medical and non?
3. Where to get a cheap 2 bedroom apartment or house, preferably month to month or 3 month lease for summer? (want to stay a while before commiting 100%)
4. Average cannabis prices im going to find out there to keep myself from going crazy? (remember im not local out there so may not be getting best deals. however, do go to the "right" shows.)
5. Pretty much anything to help me (and a close friend) get the experiences we need summer of 2011 to know if it is the place for us.
6. Does anyone grow in small apartments and is that ok as long as you have a med card?

*Appreciate any info from residents. Help bring another pot friendly "future" CO resident "home".*

Thanks for the reply and any in advance!

you are going to need about 20grand to settle here,
Co is a taxxed place to live.

In Boulder there are no month to month leases, no 3 month leases, year to year here, apts start at 1200 month

Can you afford $7gal milk?

$150 oz
there is no med scene here anymore if you are thinking about moving here to grow for the MMJ movement. It's over, all gone.

Never grow in an APT...stupid, and NEVER tell your landlord anything.

The places you should be looking is in Greeley,Pueblo,Longmont... You want Trustafarians and subaroos,,, go to the peoples republic of Boulder...

The med scene just got fucked over with 1284. However making coin on fire has never been a problem. You will be selling it for less then you want,,, see above $150 zips...

The job market sucks ass unless you are willing to do work others wont, see above for the towns that have industry's with revolving doors for jobs...

Foods cheap I buy all my meat on the hoof and have it processed, I can and go to buy from farmers market or right out of the field for veggies...
Milk is bad for you don't drink that shit! You will get man boobs to many hormones in that shit,,, You want milk find a free range cow and milk that, be careful they are feisty...

Back to the jobs... There aren't any, unless you are skilled or a journeyman or sorts pipe fitting, welding, rig hand. If you pound nails or build houses or any related trade you are fucked the bottom fell out of building houses... Most of the work you will be get will be shift work in mfg or a slaughter house... Or as we call it here...

I got a PHD that's a Packing House Degree...

Housing those three towns see above have 3 bedroom houses for 600-1000 a month. If you want whitebread move to Boulder the only people of color there play for the buffs... :artist:

If you want to move to a place that the cops wont fuck with you, see nature at it's finest, grow some weed, find a shitty job, make a couple bucks on a few zips now and then this is the place. If you think this is the land of milk and honey to sling it's not...
Unless you have lived here for 40+ years and know people it's hard to find buyers for elbows for a good price it was $4000 now it's down to $2500... That's what the newbies slingers coming here fail to realize unless you sell grams your not going to kill it...

At first I didn't want any of you foreigners coming to my state,,, now what the fuck, move in and rent a empty house add to our broken economy I care less... Peace and puffs

From the Normal website... This is non medical

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Possession of one ounce or less of marijuana is a petty offense. The offender receives a summons to appear in court, and upon a promise to appear in court, the offender is to be released from detention. The maximum penalty for a violation is $100. Failure to appear at the specified time and location results in the increase of the charges to a misdemeanor. Displaying or using the marijuana in public results in the added penalty of up to 15 days in jail. Possession of greater than one ounce is a misdemeanor, punishable by 6-18 months in jail and a fine of $500 - $5,000, plus a $600 surcharge. Possession of greater than 8 ounces of marijuana is a felony, punishable by 1 - 3 years in prison and a fine of $1,000 - $100,000 and a surcharge of $1,125. Generally, subsequent convictions of possession of over one ounce double the possible penalties.
Transfer of less than one ounce of marijuana for no consideration is considered possession and is punished as such. Any other transfer, sale, manufacture or cultivation is a felony, punishable by 2 – 4 years in prison and a fine of $2,000 - $500,000 and a $1,500 surcharge. Any transport of greater than 100 lbs. is punishable by 8 – 24 years in prison and a fine of $5,000 - $1,000,000. Any transfer to a minor is also a felony punishable by 2 – 4 years in prison and a fine of $2,000 - $500,000. Any sale within 1000 feet of a school or public housing area increases the penalties to 8 – 24 years in prison and a fine of $10,000 to $1,000,000.

Any convictions for drug offenses that involve diversion from the prison system require a mandatory 16 - 48 hours of community service.
Any felony convictions involving possession or sale of marijuana also result in the suspension of the offender's driver's license for a period of up to one year.
Possession or sale of paraphernalia is a petty offense punishable by a fine of up to $100.

Hope that helps... :tiphat:

Laws in CO

This is from the normal site also. Medical

Colorado

SUMMARY: Fifty-four percent of voters approved Amendment 20 on November 7, 2000, which amends the state’s constitution to recognize the medical use of marijuana. The law took effect on June 1, 2001. It removes state-level criminal penalties on the use, possession and cultivation of marijuana by patients who possess written documentation from their physician affirming that he or she suffers from a debilitating condition and advising that they "might benefit from the medical use of marijuana." (Patients must possess this documentation prior to an arrest.) Patients diagnosed with the following illnesses are afforded legal protection under this act: cachexia; cancer; chronic pain; chronic nervous system disorders; epilepsy and other disorders characterized by seizures; glaucoma; HIV or AIDS; multiple sclerosis and other disorders characterized by muscle spasticity; and nausea. Other conditions are subject to approval by the Colorado Board of Health. Patients (or their primary caregivers) may legally possess no more than two ounces of usable marijuana, and may cultivate no more than six marijuana plants. The law establishes a confidential state-run patient registry that issues identification cards to qualifying patients. Patients who do not join the registry or possess greater amounts of marijuana than allowed by law may argue the "affirmative defense of medical necessity" if they are arrested on marijuana charges.
The medical use provisions in Colorado do not include reciprocity provisions protecting visitors from other medical use states.

AMENDMENTS: Yes. House Bill 1284,signed into law on June 7, 2010, establishes state provisions regulating medical cannabis dispensaries. The law requires medical marijuana dispensing facilities to obtain state and local licensing approval and to be in compliance with all local zoning codes. Dispensaries must pay a state licensing fee, shall be located no closer than 1,000 feet from a school or daycare (municipalities have the authority to issue exemptions to this rule), and operators must oversee the cultivation at least 70 percent of the marijuana dispensed at the center. Licensed dispensary owners will be required to undergo criminal background checks by the state.
House Bill 1284 imposes a statewide moratorium on the establishment of new dispensaries, beginning in July 2010. HB 1284 also grants local municipalities the authority to prohibit the establishment of dispensaries in their community. Individual caregivers are legally permitted to provide medical cannabis for up to five patients in localities that have formally banned dispensaries.

Hope that helps... :tiphat:

Back to areas... We will start with the north end
Ft Collins,Greeley,loveland

These areas are heavy into food and crop production.

Greeley stinks so bad you don't go there in the summer! Big slaughter house and a bunch of independent little ones, cows everywhere, also has mfg jobs and lots of transient workers for harvesting veggies. Not much to do in that town. Low rent $600 and up for a house

Fort collins collage town pretty spendy to live there, has alot of jobs based on tourism and a few big mfg places. You compete with collage kids for jobs... Plenty of cool shit to do in this town! Mid range rent $1000 or less

Loveland tourism, dispensary's and grow shops are thriving. Not a whole bunch of big business. Plenty to do. The rent is a little higher then Ft collins.

Longmont, Boulder,Denver

Longmont has all the people that can't afford to live in Boulder and the commute to the little silicon valley to work. Rent is cheap and they have a big turkey plant. Not a whole lot of mfg goes on. Not much to do in this town.

Boulder It is by far the weirdest place in CO. Rent is high, so is the whole town... Food is crazy priced!!! Most of the town is doing there part conserving water by not showering... The transient workers here beg for a living. Lots to do! If your any type of hick stay away from here.

The mile high city...

Shit to much to list not a huge city... And the highways are getter better and better all the time! You can zip around that place if you miss the rush hours... Tons of cool shit to do. Tons of different price ranges for rent depending... Highlands ranch, Cherry creek You better have a box of money... Jobs are everywhere...

Colorado springs,Pueblo,Canon City

The springs...
Big military complex going on there! The jobs are working for uncle sam or tourism from pikes peak and other cool place to go. Tons of stuff to do. Housing is cheap in some places but the cops seem to be messing with the dispensary's there...

Pueblo...

Rent is cheap and you can buy land for a $1000 a acre some has water already tapped in the lots... Not many jobs had a huge steel mill making Railroad Rails. I heard some one bought it and are making a come back... Not much to do in this town...

Canon City...

Fuck that! You know how many prisons are there??? Stay the fuck out of that place! If you like the klan or like prisons this is your town!

That's the front range...

My next installments will include the mountain towns starting with Redfeather,Estes Park, Nederland,Cripple creek, Walsenburg...

Then will move to the Ski towns and be doing a piece on the western slope later on... :dance013: I think I pretty much covered it...

!!!

Now in technicolor

$1200 rent is nuts. Might as well move to NYC. No med scene but everyone smokes. Food is dirt cheap but good weed is $400-800/oz and the market is always in demand.

Boulder fucking blows man. I lived there for years when I was like 19 and so. He 'aint kidding, shit is expensive. I don't even like going there.

I pay less than that for a 5 bedroom house, just way farther away from that place. You couldn't pay me to do it again...... and I love dreadlocks.

Yeah, Boulder sucks.

What with all the incredible views, proximity to skiing, stunningly gorgeous liberal college girls, world class shopping, best restaurants in the Mountain Time Zone, flowing buds, fair weather, fun festivals, friendly, successful people, highly educated populous, socially and environmentally conscious populous, etc.

Total shithole. Worse than Kansas.

Sorry, but pampered bro's and trust fund babies aren't my cup of tea. The views, you couldn't be more right on though. Wish I had those mountains views still.
