Colorado outdoor season is closing down

There is supposed to be 1/2 inch of snow tonight. The average first frost is not until the 1st week of October so there should be some warm days yet to allow things to finish. I am running Ace Seeds gear (cold hardy) so we will see. I figure I will use some sheets and cover what I can.

Brought my outdoor girls inside last night. Didn't really get any precipitation in East Denver thankfully. Hope all your girls made it Bombay!

Frosty temps last night up here in the highlands but no frost on the garden. Tonight will be the coldest night then it looks like it will stay just above the frost mark for lows for the next few weeks with warm/sunny days. A bit of plastic cover tonight should be enough to ensure a bit more time and a solid finish with lots of color. Good luck all.

had to enclose all my outdoors with plastic and add a few propane heaters inside, did the trick! everything was looking normal this morning :) still got heat running as we speak to keep them warm enough! only one more night of this bull ish

Yeah...and it sometimes dumps a big ass load of wet snow as well. Up here in the hills I've seen it snow in every month on the calendar.

The roller coaster ride of temps has started. How long the ride will last is up to Mom. A 40-50 degree swing in temps from morning to night isn't unusual at this time of year.

If you didn't know...a general rule of thumb is that if it is 45F or colder at 9PM there will likely frost the next AM. A good thermometer is very useful at this time of year.... as are those big rolls of plastic they sell at the box store. LOL.

The Colo plateau is experiencing unusually warm weather this time of year... I haven't seen temps forecast for less than 38 deg yet. We typically get a cold snap for a week mid to end of September.

I'm loving it so far.
