I've got DeWalt, impact and drill. Came with 3 batteries, but one died in a bit over a year, so no warranty. Add to that the second one is getting low on operating time maybe. So not real happy with Dewalt 20volt batteries.

Love the tools, but batteries are almost as much as the set.

True about the batteries, for any brand. I have extra drills & chargers because the set was on sale cheaper than the batteries alone.

Go figure.

I have Ryobi's for home, def solid homeowner grade stuff. Makitas for work, more of a pro grade I think. Since I retired, they're all at home.

I was once a big Milwaukee fan, but the new model drills bought for the shop where I worked didn't hold up worth a damn. My Makita impact has driven thousands of screws, bolts, & nuts- just as strong as it ever was. Handiest tool I ever owned.

unfortunately the black and decker "dewalt" brand is actually on the higher end of battery life... the makita's always seemed to last longer, but not by much...

Helpful words, I'm thinking of buying a line of cordless tools. I have hesitated because of the battery cost, and because cords still cost less.

And yes, Solar Roast, hands down, beats other coffee roasters!! Using a Helios 5 solar electric roasting system, which draws electrical current from a PV fed grid-tie in order to power large electric heater, it's a hybrid electric-gas hybrid.

Awesome beans!!

They are good beans. I'm currently strung out on Boyer's Colorado Cafe Blend from Sam's Club. Also excellent. I drip brew a pot, never turn on the warmer. When I want more later, I nuke a cup & it comes out great. Can't do that with cheap coffee.

For homeowner/ handyman stuff, Ryobi's are a really good value, imho. Kits are sometimes on sale at Home Despot very reasonable. Their 5" circular saw does plywood & osb handily, 2x4's as well. Can't just slam it through like a worm drive Milwaukee, of course, but it gets there just the same.

Dunno how I ever lived w/o the cordless Ryobi sawzall. Great for tree trimming, stout shrubs, plastic pipe, demo work, anything not requiring a lot of finesse. Mine's 10 years old, had to buy a new trigger assy awhile back for $20. Lennox blades FTW.

I bought 18v LED bulbs off Ebay for the lanterns- outrageous run time, well worth the expense.

Corded tools mostly stay in the cabinet...

My father is a carpenter and he stands by Dewalt. He's only owned 2 drills in the past 20 years, both Dewalt. Don't know what model he's got right now, but it's going strong on 8+ years; that baby has some torque. Some can get pricey, but you get what you pay for.

I'd rather stretch out 50' of cord than waste a bunch of time waiting on half-dead batteries to charge... plus, if you use it for anything intensive, running hot batteries kills em, and waiting a half hour sucks... dont try stickin them hot batteries in a fridge either... life goes to shit. I got a cordless kit for small stuff that requires mobility or a spot I gotta get into right quick... but if its your only shit, I'd get it corded...

After looking through the genetics available from local friends I've decided to go with this ATA Tundra (Seedsman) x Goji OG (Bhodi) cross for my outdoor this year. It'll do

The Paki Highland hermied, more beans of those available, and the Petrolia Headstash plants still going strong and plenty of time to decide if 1 or more of those go outside for me.

Is it just me or is it way KKKKKold up here this year?

They're forecasting mid 20*s F Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights..... Marginally worrisome, in the GH/shed. Hope those girls are tough. lol

It does seem like there's a lot of late winter weather up high- the forecast is for snow over the weekend. Not down here in Denver.

Man, I think you'd better look again. My house down there says snow Sunday and Monday. With lows of 30*F.

The 'river-rat' seems to agree also.

Just checked NOAA- you're right. The forecast deteriorated over the last couple of days. Nice tomorrow, however, so I can finish painting the shed...

One project down, about a zillion left...

If I can hold the temp. up around 32*F, they'll be fine. Just not growing much. This run is in DWC/Bubble Buckets. Thinking to fill the shed side to side and top to bottom. lol
Ak, Jilly, W Russian, and Oregon Grape.

Just adding to the jars. :^)

Think I need a cookie now. Hmmm, what strain do I eat tonight?
