I hand water a few soil ones. I pot them in fox farm with worm castings mixed in and perlite. When they go to flower i use the fox farm tiger bloom. I use RO water so i have to add cal-mag to the water every other watering. For my DWC im using the aquaflakes and love it. If I can find a comparable organic substitute I will go for it but my DWC plants grow at double the rate that the soil ones do easily and they are in the same room under the same lights. I always let them finish out and flush for a good two weeks and I can get about double off of the DWC of what I get off of the soil.

i believe it. that's the draw of DWC for sure. have you checked out BigToke's Bio-buckets or any of the OBBT threads? they seem to be 'organic' adaptations to DWC. hard to change something that ain't broke though.

Yes, definitely. If it has roots it's a plant.
House & Garden is "semi organic." It's a lot cleaner than everything else in its class, especially if you're using the drip clean.
It's common to get 4-6oz plants in soil. How much do you need? Plus, soil tastes, smells and burns so much better. Also, soil is much easier to go true 100% organic with. No pumps/filters/lines to clog. And since there are no pumps to worry about you can also get out of town for a few days without being paranoid about a pump issue. I might go back to Hydro some day but for now I'm keeping it simple, no headaches, patience, quality, love.

Just found the answer on another thread. The answer is- No. Unrooted cuttings are not plants and do not count against your limit. Take this one to the bank.

Whoops, I thought you were asking about rooted clones. Missed the "un" that completely changes the meaning of the word, lol, good meds...but now you know. Roots=plant.
Got a few questions for any legal caregivers out there that care to share. Are you growing in residential areas? What does your lawyer say about doing this? I know boulder just enacted a policy that barred cultivation of more than personal(6 plants) in residential zones. Do you have all permits needed operate legally? Are you gonna report the income on taxes? Just curious what your lawyers are advising you of. I have a meeting with a lawyer in the next few weeks just trying to put together a list of questions for him. Are you guys utilizing a patient caregiver agreement form? I am working on putting one together.
Also what are your power cost running you? Anybody running 1000 watt lights? What do you think it's costing you each month? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. If there is anything I can help any of you with feel free to ask. If you got a quick legal question shoot it by me and if I have time I will run it by my lawyer. Thanks

Where did you get this info? There have been proposals. As far as I know, no restrictions have been made yet.

Lets see if I can help with a real world experience.
My electrical bill was 260- 300 and running 2 1000 watt light plus a/c, plus tv, plus hot water, plus, plus, plus. I run a sealed co2 enriched 12'x13' room. This was for the months of sept & oct.
I've estimated the energy cost to be no more than $86 per 1000 watt light per run.
The following are my calculations as best as I could figure:
electrical usage per light @ $0.05 kilowatt/hr
veg- 18h- 7weeks
flower- 12h - 8weeks
Monthly cost per light-
18hd, 1000 watts, kilowatt/hr/0.05, 30.5d=* $27.45
12hd, 1000 watts, kilowatt/hr/$0.05, 30.5d,= $18.30
$27.45 X 1.8= $49.40 (7w)
$18.30 X 2= $36.60 (8w)
Total energy per run= 86.00
Total per light per annum (86X3.46)- 297.00*
plus HVAC, service charges, taxes *climate control ~ 450.00*

As for caregiver patient agreements. I only have a copy of their application and doctors certification, then I make sure to get a copy of the red card when it comes in. If they want to go to someone else then they will do that, and you can't stop them, if that is their choice.

Hoss- Take a look at this. http://www.bouldercolorado.gov/files/5D.pdf Check page 22 says it went into effect on the 10th. My question would be is it a zoning issue and are you OK if they find you and tell you to stop and you do so. Or does it interfere with the medical defense since you are breaking the zoning law? My guess would be that it is a zoning matter and you are fine if they find you and ask you to shut down I would advise doing so. I am not sure that is only a guess. I am more familiar with Denver who currently has no regulations. If you look in that file there is a section that list all the towns current policies and opinion on MMJ. I will ask my lawyer when I sit with him soon.
Attila- Where did you get the .05 KWH price? Do you get that from your power bill seems cheap. As far as I know there are no current regulations in Denver. You could use a patient caregiver agreement to protect yourself from a lot of liabilities you should look into it. When I said permits I was referring to a business license, sales tax id, and Federal tax id. How are you paying taxes on the money you make. You can register everything to a PO box for security reasons.
I am going to sit with a great lawyer in the coming weeks to discuss the current interpretations of the laws in Denver. Worst thing right now is that it seems they are only interpretations there is so much gray area. I need to protect my investments.
Also anyone have any information of insurance companies to cover liability insurance for a warehouse grow?

I'm turning anywhere from 8-16oz on DWC and 4-8oz on hydro. I give most of it away. Some of the people I'm taking care of really need it and I don't mind as long as I can cover my costs. These people are my friends. Making a little extra once in a while is nice and yeah that goes on my taxes. I have done blind taste tests between the soil and hydro (clones from the same mom) and more than half of the "test subjects" picked the hydro over the soil. I think soil is easier but if you are meticulous and take your time hydro can be just as good. As a guitarist I can relate this to the old tube amp vs. solid state argument and it really is a matter of personal preference. I think most of the taste/smell/burn quality comes from good flushing and the curing process. It takes time. Some times I cure for up to 6 or 8 weeks (if i can hold on to it for that long) but the average cure time for me is 4 weeks. I think the longer you can cure it the better. In glass jars in a dark cool place it will keep for a very long time without degrading in quality.
Here is a question that came across my mind the other day. I have extra space waiting to be used and cash to throw down on new equipment but I want to stay legal so I need a few more patients. Someone offered to sell me patients for $350 each for one year. That is extortion if you asked me but my question is: is that legal? I don't think people's legal rights should be bought and sold like a commodity. This kind of business transaction seems shady. Can't those people choose to change caregivership any time they want? You can buy them, write up a contract to have the people sign saying that you will be their caregiver for 1 year, require them to notify you by certified mail and give a 30 day notice before being able to terminate the deal. Give them some free meds and require them to compensate you for meds already given to them if they break they contract. If they switch caregivers and you are in court you can use the contract in your defense that you are legally supposed to be there caregiver. I can go into more detail if you need. My lawyer is gonna look over my agreement. Protect yourself. Ballzar can you hook me up with the connect to fill my extra patient spots? Please let me know. Or anyone else wjho can help.

i have a query.greeley city council has determined that a mmj patient must aquire his/her meds from a caregiver or dispensary that is located outside city limits.This is from "Medical marijuana sales/dispensing in greeley" this was released by the city of greeley dated 11/12/09.question was can a caregiver grow marijuana in Greeley for his or her patients.The answer to this was NO.Cultivation of marijuana ,other than by a patient for thier personal use , is considered a dispensary and not allowed in Greeley" how can they impose these restrictions, which seem in direct violation of Ammendment 20? i have the entire form that was released by the city of Greeley and can fax it to you or scan it in here.Can you ask your lawyer if this is legal ??? seems the city council voted to make dispensaries illegal in greeley Just doesn't seem right.please ENLIGHTEN me.
