This past summer, my Girlfriend and I decided to take a long vacation. And by a long vacation I mean a backpacking trip through my girlfriend's native country of Colombia. We spent 12 weeks exploring the country. 9-10 weeks of adventuring on our own and 2 weeks with her family that still live in their beautiful country. Although I am only 23, I have seen many countries, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Mexico (not touristy beach shit) Peru, Chile, Argentina. Never Europe, that just seems like America Lite to me. I need a challenge and a certain feeling of the unexpected while I travel.
All of these other countries pale in comparison to Colombia. The natural beauty, not just of land but of the people. Colombia has the most beautiful people in the world. Sure patagonia region is amazing, but there is just something about Colombia.
We did many cool things such as a week long hike to a place called the Lost City. People are saying that this is going to be the next Machu Picchu, and I agree. It was breathtaking. To think that we were the only people around was spiritual.
On to the bud report. The Coast is schwaggy and more of a Rasta feel. Inland, in Medellin and Bogota, the bud is pretty good. Nothing to write home about but it will definetlely get you high. As for the white stuff, fuck that shit. Don't even ask. I didn't try it and will never try it again. It's killed too many people I love.
