Collapsible Grow Box

I was wondering if anyone ever made one before? I'm going to be moving into an apartment for a year and if I can make a grow box that I can bring back and fourth that would be best. Does anyone have any ideas for how I could go about making a box like this?

I was thinking some how with door hinges? Any Ideas?

how about mounting the whole thing on a hand truck. or mounting on top of a dolly?

or grow trays on 4 wheels like a cart with a tray up top for soil?

Make it like a sandwich board.. Just hinged on 4 sides.. Make it so that the top comes off. Then when you take the top off its breaks down. Just have to come up with something for when your feeding or whatever it stays up.. im high and cant think of anything right now. But id do something like that.. hope i helped a lil bit.. peace.. Ill think of it later.. hehe ..

use two gorilla grarage selfs zipp tied together. Make 4 sides that can be detached. Or go to home depot and buy closet.

oh man there was this thread.. crap I wish I could remember...it would be perfect for you in my opinion.. it was like just a couple of pieces of wood covered with poly like three layers or something like that.. it was used as his flower room.. Ill try to look for the thread again.. you might like it you might not..

well anyhow I cant find the thread.. but it came back to my memory.. It was like 4 8 feet 2 by something... and like 8 4 feet 2 by something...made to make a rectangular box in a vertical position.. you can change the measurements yourself.. then wrapped by couple layers of poly.

Thats neat. I'm not to sure how about to go about it yet. I might end up buying a box or just building a cheap one that ill throw away when I have to. For now I need to make a small Rubbermaid flower box which will be used as a cloning/veg box eventually after I build this wood box. I was thinking like 2' wide, 4' Length, and 5' Tall maybe six. Do you think a 400 watt HPD would be good enough for a flowering area? Possibly doing Scrog?

i was thinking on a smaller scale...are you shure that thing can come appart and be 100% transportable and reassembled without damaging the wood?
i was thinking on something that can be reused. something that you make once and be easy to dismantle and put back together on noumerous ocasions without having to invest in other materials.

and after smoking some SWT#3x Hz/Sk i've discovered it (EUREKA) and i just want to run my idea by you people. i don't think i'll build it verry soon but maybe some will use the info.
use pvc pipes, pvc pipe fiings and some screws and some nuts to make the suport. then velcro on the bars and the white and the black poly. the yellow bar represents where you hang your light.


this way when you move you can reuse everything with no aditional costs

I had this very same idea the only problem is i've never worked with the black and white poly. Is it strong and flexible? Also I'd have to make custom strips to make it fit so i can slide it on and off, not to hard.

the b & w poly is graet!

you can cut it, tape it...it doesn't tear too easily, and you can wipe it clean.

a member here (sorry, i can't remember who) gave me the tip of using foil tape, as it is reflective! and stays much longer than packing tape/duct tape.

I think i've decided to go with the PVC pipe idea with the white/black poly. I'll prob use computer fans for intake and exaust as I dont want to damage the pol to much with extra weight and for costs perposes. I think Ill do 2 Exausts (120MM Case Fans with 104 CFM) ON each end of the top wall. I'm not sure yet if the PVC pipe will suppost the lamp. i havn't even bought the lamp yet, but ill will hopefully buy one soon, unfortunetly i think i have to get a 150 wat insted of the 400 watt i was going for. Any more suggestions?

Hmm never saw these products on that site before. I think this is the solution to my problems. Now to be anwsered, with PVC pip be able to hold the Lamp? I dont know if i'm going to be buying a 150 watt HPS or MH. I was thinking of getting the MH and then I can get a conversion bulb, or I could just do the whole grow with the HPS.

I'd use Schedule 60 or 80 PVC to build the frame 60 is thick wall PVC, 80 is even thicker like the couplings, "T's" and "L's" etc..you could build a bed on that or a refrigerator stand.

Then hang it with these...they're awesome..I love um...chains are a hassle..

I just use a closet or wardrobe, that way it doesnt look suspiscious.
Just looks like a closet for clothes.
