Why use a cold frame for cannabus?, do you feel it's nesacery (sp) or benificial? just never heard of it, or be honest never thought about it, even thought i do tomatoes (outside) and other fruit/veg that need to be hardened off. never hardened canna off.

I suppose where you live makes a difference, micro climate and all that, but still an intresting thought, at least to me.

I would like a reason or two how i may benefit from this, as i have the room. thanks.

I built a cold frame (from an old box spring) but I don't use it for MJ.
I start indoors for a spring grow, so they go right under the removable hoop house.
I'll post some pics if I can find them.

This is the money you could be saving if you grow

Yeah. I need something like this to start my plants on site in the forest. This was suggested to me in Colorado. The grow season at 10,000 feet is shorter and in the Spring, you need a cold box or green house to get things going.

this month im going to throw up a cold frame, at least thats what i think its called. im going to order the steel frame from some company, im thinking the Gothic style roof. its 12 feet tall, 20 wide, and im thinking 24 feet long, maybe 36. otherwise its a car port for a grand cheaper. where i live we get a few inches of rain in october, so i gotta be finished hopefully before september. july and aug is what im trying to flower on, only months where there is less then 2 inches of rain. fucking pacific northwest. not much heat though, only a few days over 100. im thinking a few fans and sides that can go up and down will do the trick with that. standard cold frame set up i think. where im going to get funky is at the rental store. imma get a back hoe, dig out 5 feet deep, and then re fill with potting soil (any recomendations on how to do this). also im thinking about an auto flower thing. 10grand total is what what im hoping i can spend and be good. ill be throwing 4 or 5 foot tall babies in there, veg them a month out side, then flip them. they will finish in 9 weeks in a greenhouse right? using light dep that is. simple enough plan i think. get a camper trailer, do some camping this summer! im going to blow this fucker up, i cut the clones jan 3ed, and have been training them since then. 20 gauge wire is so damn useful. any ideas or recommendations?

cold frames are useful for people that want to start plants early but do not have the space or equiptment to do it indoors.

imagine if you couldnt start plants indoors. Thats the advantage of a cold frame.
