Cold temps & Low Humidity or Good temps & High Humidity....a lesser of two evils

Hey ICMagers,

Currently i am growing in a homemade cab and I can make 1 adjustment to the system currently.

My placing a towel between my vent fan and vent hole, i am able to bring the temps to a reasonable 75*-82*F however this raises the humidity to cause condensation on the inside walls of the grow area.

By removing the towel from the equation, I am able to get temps around 65*F with the lights on and lower humidity.

This also has an effect with the temps the plants experience with the lights off. When the towel is there, the cab will retain the heat for a longer period and slowly decrease down to its average lights off temp of 55*F (which i know is too cold but that is not the point right now) When the towel is there, the temp drops sooner and the plants remain at the same 55*F.

I am worried about:
1. High humidity causing buds to go bad!
2. Low temps causing slow growth that effects yield.
3. Large temp differentials that the plants react strangely too.

Notes:
-This is my second time running this strain, the last time was in another cab so i didnt have this same issue. Unknown Bag Seed.
-The cab is in the basement and there is no option to move it and it gets cold int he basement and i do not plan to heat it.
-The plants are @ almost 40 days of flower and look great!

What would you do?
Thanks,
Budelight

I have found that low temps and low humidity have slowed growth...the trade off is that it has also shortened intermodal length. Plus, no mold? Sounds like a winner to me!

can you add a speed controller to the exhaust fan or put it on a timer? add another fan for air circulation so when the exhaust is off there is still some movement? a cycle timer should bring the temp up and keep the humidity a little lower i would think.

don't settle dial that thing in and find a creative way to get the environment you want!

I have a speed controller from HTGspply. The controller is simply a light dimmer, the same as HomedePot, which i returned after using it for 5 minutes. They simply dont work... What you need is to dial down a Variable AC Transformer The Fan is on the same timer as the light. 11 hours/day

This is a great idea, however i have no available sockets to plug in a fan and my electrical box is WICKEED tight. Good idea to keep in mind though- thanks!

Day 39 - Candi is Back!

*This update is for my better half. The one who makes it all happen. Thank you.*

Hey All,

Things are going good. Few issues, we got through them all -like im the boss. Seen This Video Yet?

Pump schedule is updated-> running frequently. The humidity: is now in range. The plants are streaching and pistils are reaching out for :xmastree:

My concern is that the buds are not swelling AND building in density like most expert-grower's buds do by this time. Any Tips?

Here are some photos to show you what i mean>>>>
