cold temps and running ballast

i have a 1000 watt ballast i want to put under my trailer this winter during the coldest time it gets -30f ....i dont think it would hurt the ballast but i dont want to do it and then have to dig through tons of snow to set it up inside and ideas or comments would be helpful thanks

Well if streetlights function just fine in the winter, I would guess that most other HID ballasts should be fine. No real idea though.

I'd say it'd be fine, but as Towlie said, why not put it in another room and reap the free heat from it this winter? Plus if it did take a shit it would suck getting back under there to replace it.
