cola not filling in!!

so my friend is on his 6th week and his colas doesn't look like it's going to fill in. i had this happen to me before due to very cold water. sorry forgot to mention our setup. its dwc with 4 plants in 5 gal buckets under 600w. i was there last week and his air is pretty stale since he's got not fresh air going into the room. his humidity is pretty high as well. i think it's close to 65-70%. so my guess is very poor air and high humidity. so what can really cause a plant not to want to fill in their buds? thanks in advance!!

The lack of fresh air will halt growth,as the plants get bigger they become more dependant on fresh air as they have more growth, fresh air is a must and will improve things immensely.
All the best.

what abuout the temps? high canopy heat will slow growth of buds and keep them wispy rather than thick and full. you said high humidity. that can also cause problems. does he have a fan in there?

some strains have chunky buds at the nodes, without ever filling in to one continuous cola. thats ok though, could still be killer. and get some fresh air too...

sorry i forgot to mention the temps! i believe it's around 80-84 without co2. how far should he have the light away from the top of the canopy around 4 weeks and later? thanks again guys!!

80-84 isn't terrible. Not great either though. What is the change in temp between light cycles?
