Coffee smell?

An old friend just let me know some bag seed he grew out had a very distinct coffee or cappuccino smell to it during flowering. No taste test yet. I had never heard of this and was wondering if anyone here had any similar experiences or knew of any commercial strain that had this quality. We're trying to track down some sort of lineage but have no idea where to start.

Bubba Kush has a very coffee-like earthy-ness to it... is the plant indica or sativa? (short and squat or tall and lanky?) with wide leaves or thin leaves?

what is the flowering time on this bagseed? more info needed...

yes and does sour bubble, which is very similar to bubbak. that'd be awsome if its a SB seed

Ok - just got him to send me these. Its his first grow (carrying on the tradition since I quit for school) and alot of things went wrong but fortunately these seem to be very hardy plants. They have been in low light conditions since day 1 and that may have been part of the reason they stretched. Overall I think the leaf structure is more indica but the stretch did not begin until flower. This plant was nothing more than a stalk when he put them into flower and now (approx day 50) colas appeared out of nowhere. Overall the plant is about 20 inches tall and was flowered after only a week or two of veg.








Thanks for the help so far - a Bubba Kush would be an excellent find indeed but I doubt we're that lucky.

So what do the pictures lead you to think?

yeah... definitely not a Kush from the pics... don't know man... sorry, hopefully someone can give you some more helpful info... looks more like diesel or somethin...

Could it be saute'd garlic? Shiva is 1/3 garlic bud one of my favorites. While it doesn't smell like garlic per say, it's hard to deny the odor. It's really hard to explain.

yea bubbas the most common one around but i remember around the early mid nineties when i used to buy all my weed the real skunkier bud had that real coffee smell. I mean what it smells like when you open a new bag of starbucks. It was a few that had the smell back then. these were all crazy dense neon green buds. odyssey gets a real coffee skunky smell after it cures a few weeks. still has its own sweetness though too.but its not the same as that old school shit. tastes hella good though
