Coffee Shops... 18 and over or 21 and over?

I've always learned through my online research and hearing what everyone says basically coffee shops are getting cracked down upon, and some have been busted serving to underages.

On another forum someone has just told me that dampkring, tweede kamer and a few others have gone from 18 to 21 and over. I'm 20. I planned an entire vacation with coffee shops being my main attraction, and now i'm guessing i can't get in to half the shops?

is this true? untrue? is this guy retarded?

i just got back and in almost all the places i went to it was 18yrs old. On the Dampkring door i saw it said 21. But i showed my idea and they let me in. Im 20 also, you shouldnt have a problem......just carry some form of ID on you.

i wouldnt say fuck it to ur whole trip...

some shops say 21 and over but the law is 18 and over.. i think the 21 + thing is to scare off people with fakes, really young kids just trying there luck and to maybe change the crowd they get a little bit.

i know where im from the legal drinking age is 19.. but alot of bars make it either 21 + or 25+ just so the crowd is more mature and they can attract a different group. But at the same time, if you show up and dont look 19 or act 19 most of the bouncers will allow you to come in and party anyway.

And at the same time, i dont think many shops are doing this in amsterdam. although dampkring and twede kamer are great shops.. there is still much much much more to do in amsterdam.

i say go for it anway man. you will have the trip of your life

ive been amsterdam many times also with my younger brother before he was 21 and he looks young as do i and we have never not got into anycoffeshop( and believe me ive done the rounds been over 20 times) in amsterdam even when they are 21 as long as you are over 18 and have id you will get into any coffeshop

Dampkring and Tweede Kamer are the only 2 shops that are saying you must be 21 yo. The reason for this is they were caught selling to a 15 yo. They are not taking any chances now. All other shops are 18. Come to Amsterdam and have a high time! Peace.

Dampkring, is one of the best shops around. If I was 18 I would be very dissapointed if I was unable to sample some of the finer herb
