it seems the concensus is that growing in coco is the best medium, so with that said i am starting out collecting the tools to have a coco organic cab grow. i was unable to find a dummy's guide to coco set up and proper nutes to buy. i am looking to grow about 5 plants in my cab under a 400w CMH bulb. so one bag of the canna coco bricks? can someone please break down what i need to do and buy for this grow. thanx

for 5 plants in 3 gal pots, you will probably need about 2-3-bags of coco.We use 80% botanicare coco gro, 20% chunky perlite and fertilize with advanced nutes with added cal-mag.. no matter what nutes you use you will most likely want to add cal mag .
we water run to waste ph'd at about 5-7 for veg and 6-8 for flower..

herbal essences

Canna makes, coco specific nutes, so do a couple other companies, I'm sure if you do a little more research you will find everything you need/need to know, thats what I have done and will begin my grow shortly with coco, the search function is your friend, no more spoon feeding for you!! :spank: j/k rock on :headbange

wash your coco with HOT water...no matter what brand or type you get. Nothing wrong with getting am little extra coco at first. better to have too much than not enough.

You don't need to mix any perlite and or clay balls if you don't want to. It's up to you. Coco works fine on it's own. You can choose between coco coir or chips. I prefer the chips...but most use coir. I find the coir is a little too fine though.

To keep it simple...use a coco specific nute. CNS17 has everything you will need for a coco grow. You can even put the cal-mag on the back burner with CNS, and it's the cheapest of all the coco nutes to buy.

K.I.S.S. Keep it simple. Coco is very forgiving....but you do need to watch the plants and possibly have a small learning curve to overcome.

Despite what most coco growers in pots will tell you...if you are handwatering...it's best to let it dry a bit between waterings. Just let the top layer dry out before watering again. Alot less problems in pots this way. Especially if you are using coir.

Drink!

thanx guys great advice, so why do people add the little clay balls on top of their coco? so for 5 plants will 1 gallon of CNS bloom be enough? should i buy CNS grow as well as bloom?

the reason they add the pebbles is to slow the drying prosses as the pebbles act as insulator.. needed depending on ur evap rate..if you find next day there DRY then maybe but dont bother for now ..

you really should check out bcuzz bounce, just fill bag no Pre Washing.. no guesing. open bag pour water to rehydrate plant, grow, that it.

but i say 9-10 liters Coco per plant

as far as CNS ya get grow and bloom..
start with a gallon, as you dont know if you will want to try something else later and if u run out u can always buy another gal.. but it will depend on how much water u mix up each watering..
