This is my first grow in coco. I am using MagJo Naturals Compressed Coco Fiber Peat, Perlite, and Botanicare Kind trio nutrients in 3 gallon buckets. I will be hand watering also. My seedlings are 18 days old and are looking very good. Any and all comments are welcomed.

The seedlings are in jiffy. That's another question I have. Will that be a problem transplanting them in coco. I plan to Ph and put nutrients in the coco before I transplant them.

Be sure and keep your Cal/mag and Epsom higher.

Believe me in a short time you will want to upgrade to an auto irrigation. You cannot treat coco like soil, need multi watering during light cycles.

Make sure to pasteurize your coco. Fungus gnats are common in coco. You can also add microbes like OG biowar foliar pack as a drench to kill off any gnats. Microbe Lift BMC also helps for gnats too. When you transplant those seedlings into bigger pots with coco, let the coco dry out a little (not too much) so that encourages root growth.

I use neem oil once a week as a foliar and drench, completely staves off any pest in my experience. And will kill any gnats if you already have them.

I water once a day or less if they don't need it. Dependant on root mass and size of the plant. If it's a large plant in a small container then they need multiple waterings.

I’ve never tried neem oil for gnats before. Will note that down. I know neem is an anti bacterial as well. I run beneficial microbes and fungi in my coco so I’ll have to look into that more.

If you treat coco like soil you are not getting the benefits of the DTW coco. Watering once a day will not give you the growth you can achieve in coco.

^ What he said BUT only when the pot has been filled with the plants roots. An underdeveloped root system cannot handle multiple waterings. I always look to see if roots are popping out of pots underneath and sides to start multiple waterings.

What light schedule are you currently running? Try reducing light by 1 hour..check between 5-6 node..use jeweler loop or good camera. Some strains take longer..
