Coco considerations

I am using coco in my outdoor soil mixes presently. I am considering trying a 100% coco medium. I do not have access to a hydro shop or coco specific nutes. I have high quality compost, home made ewc, high N bat guano and some home brewed fermented fruit solutions, as well as home brewed seaweed and fish emulsions. I have also had success using diluted urine in soil.

I have epsom salts, and dolomite lime. Given what I have, is it enough to sustain a 100% coco medium grow?

Dont think your supposed to use dolomite lime with coco, but everything else seems like it'd work. As long as you provide the plants with all the macro, micro and trace they need they will be good in their coco medium. Just make sure to never let the coco dryout, if handwatering - water 1 to 2 times daily. Or you can get a hydro setup with drip, ebb, w/e

I too am considering coco, looks like a great medium to use, especially since you can handwater and get hydro results, schweet

well i think soil sweet is dolomite lime, and there is not problems with using it with coco, i actualy advise it as it will offset the effects of not using made for coco fertilizers.when ya use non coco nutes you tend to get calcium and magnesium deficiencies, which so it happens to be what is in soil sweet, in slow release form.

I guess I will have to give it a try...I have some seedlings that seem to be doing fine in coco now. I have been watering them with diluted 10:1 water:urine and also with water from a tropical fish pond that is filtered. I haven't added dolomite to the seedlings. Would you advise waiting until deficiencies show before adding the dolomite? Or would you say wait until the seedlings are a few weeks old then add it to prevent deficiencies?
