What STRAIN are you growing? Blockhead
What was the establishing technique? (Were the seed or clone?) Clone
What is the age of your plants? 21 days after roots formed
What PHASE are the plants in? (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? Veg
What substrate/medium are you using?(Hydroton, RockWool etc.) CoCo, Canna
What Nutrient's are you using? Canna A, B, Cal-Mag
What is the TDS/EC/PPM you are using? 450 PPM... 5.9 to 6.0 P.H.
What is the pH of the "Tank"? Run to waste
Are you sure your calibration is correct on your equiptment? Yes, Calibrated every 2 or 3 days.
When was your last watering? Feed every day
What size bulb are you using? 200 w CFl's
What is the distance to the canopy? Inch or two
What is your RH Factor? 65%
What is the canopy temperature? 76 F
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include flucutaion range) 24hr on
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? No, But good circulation
Is your water HARD or SOFT? I use all R.O. water
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned off of or pinched No
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so, What and When? No
Are plant's infected with pest's No

All-right here we go... I am not sure of the coloring I have going on?? There is a light green (pale) looking. The growth has been very good, Roots are eveywhere & coming out the bottom.

If you look at the stems they have that Red stripe in them?? The new growth is green. I feed them at 5.9 to 6.0, It really seems like p.h. lock-out?? Or should I be going up or down w/p.h.??

Nice looking clones. If there were perlite in that coco I'd think you got those from me. LOL

Cloning, by the nature of the process, puts the plant into a slight N deficiency that needs to be corrected once the clone roots. Right now your pH is too high for optimum N absorbtion, maybe even in lockout range. (I have one strain that locks out N at 5.8 pH). Anyhoo, lower your pH to 5.6 or so and things should start to look better.

Do you plan to grow all the way through in those cups? After three weeks your plants need more room for their roots.

Good luck!

Thanks for the insight... I set up some w/higher p.h. 6.1 & 6.3 to see if I could see difference. They look the same.

I am going to drop to 5.6 and see... I thought anything under 5.8 would lock out P?? Seems like folks doing Coco like the 6.0 mark but I am trying to dial in the Coco to make it work for me.

I know 3 weeks in those cups are long but I had some re-designing of Veg & Flower rooms that I was working out.

Hi Burn-z.. very very nice looking clones.. and BTW I can dig your setup... its similar to mine.. though I suggest THE VERY NEXT THING you do is incorportate a HID into your setup~~

As for clones and feeding... your PPM is PERFECT.. for that matter your PH is darn good too... if you want the plants to grow quick and be deep green etc... up your PPM to around 550-600... and run your PH in the 6.0-6.2 range..

When feeding a plant on its way to bud... I always fluctuate my PH... from anywhere around 5.7 up to 6.2 with most waterings being in the 5.9-6.0 range..

In general.. when trying to veg like a maniac.. lower PH ranges are great... e.g. 5.6-6.1, plants have more access to Nitro and trace elements.
When in mid to late bud.. I keep my PH higher... usually 5.9-6.2 keeps the P/K easier to eat... not as much need for the traces by that time!!

one more thing... if you are keeping your clones in the cups for 2-3 wks AFTER rooting... you will need to every 3 waterings or so... give it a higher PPM feeding.. to keep em green and keep em from bleaching out.. kinda like the ones above look... in general a feeding of.. 450 should be augmented every 3rd or 4th day with a feeding of 550 or even 600ppm...

These are all just my opinions... but I've been using Canna and Coco now for bout 4 years... I would HATE to have to grow in anything else again!!!!

Peace

Well, you've been growing in coco longer than me, but...

It is my understanding that coco will naturally buffer anything you put into it up to a pH of around 6.0. Accordingly, if you start with a lower pH, while the solution is in the pot, its pH will gradually increase to around 6.0, thereby allowing more nutrients to be absorbed across a broader pH spectrum. This works particularly well in veg. In flower, I up the pH a little to make the P & K more available.

PPM is a different story. I'd be up around 1,000ppm at three weeks in, but that's just me and it's contrary to the accepted norm so I didn't mention it.
