Co2

Can someone please elaborate on how Co2 works? I am gonna trade my buddy some nugs for a tank ;-D I have a 4 x 4 tent with an intake/exhaust fan? Do I really have to shut them off, won't it get too hot in there? I am running a 400w Daystar, and three 90w Prosource Illuminator UFO's. I am just looking to raise my ppm's to about 1000. How many times can I, & should I do this? Thanks for your help!!

You can put the regulator set to come on for 15min at a time then have your fans come back on for the time the co2 is not on. That is if you have a regulator,a hose to allow the gas to drop on the tops of your ladies,as the gas is heavy and will have to drop. Some people do not use co2 I can not grasp not using it

^ What he said... watch your temps. If your temps are getting to high then I would try to upgrade to an air cooled hood and then just run a sealed duct line too the hood and then out the other side of the tent. But with co2 temps can run up to about 85-90 without any problems...

Haven't put everything together yet. I have an air cooled hood, it goes from filter, through ducting, to hood, through more ducting, out the side of the tent to the exhaust fan. In the directions, it says to shut intake/exhaust fan off-but from what I was told at the grow shop I can leave the intake fan on. How many times per day should I shut the exhaust fan off and turn the Co2 on?
I picked up regulator up today, my buddy's gonna drop off the tank tomorrow.

You want to creat a sealed room. Seal off the intake and exhaust. Get an air cooled hood thats air tight and an air conditioner. 5000 btu's will work just fine for a 1000w and under. You'll also need a regulater for the Co2.

I bought a regulator, and set everything up a week or two ago. I kinda wish I had done a little more research before I bought the regulator. For one I have a tent, not a sealed room. The room is about 10 x 11ish, with two 4x 4 tents in there. What I had been doing was, closing the door with a draft guard at the bottom of the door-so anything that leaked out of the flower tent would be sucked up by the veg intake fan. So any CO2 that did escape the flower tent, doesnt leak too far and will eventually be sucked up by both of the tents intake's. I just have an inline fan as my intake, and took my exhaust fan out. I turned my light back up to 400w, from 250super lumens, so I had to open the door again because my temps were getting a little high in the flowering tent. How high can I let my temps get up to? Thanks!!

I'd like to expound on the importance of a controller when growing with co2 enrichment.I've used co2 for many years and have come to realize the importance of a controller.Green air makes a device that emits co2 using the cubic footage of the room.Another words in an 850 cubic foot room the burner may burn for 15 minutes evey hour to achieve 1200 PPM.Now here is the kicker lol.Is the equation based on having any plants in the room? Will 30 plants consume more co2 in a given time than 15 plants in the same size room?Of course it will and thats why a controller is an absolute necessity. The quantity size and phase of growth of the plants is whats going to determine when that burner kicks in and out,not some quasi-timer that uses cubic footage to determine when to burn and when not to.
