although, it is known that plants have stomatas.... and do transpire......however, the use of concentrated added co2 to a grow room has been controversial over the years due to the results that different growers experienced...... some sware that although cannabis needs co2 to survive, pumping it into a room is not a natural way of going about it, in fact, some say added co2 takes away from the overall taste flavor and aroma of the herb in question........ many growers, mostly the ones whom prefer to grow outside, choose not to use co2 on their indoor crops and instead let their plants absorb whatever co2 is in the air....... this has been tried with amazing results........ people have also used it and not used it, some saying they have achieved better results without it, and the rest of the dro loving BC pumping and plumping community..........swares by added co2.......where do you stand?

I have never used CO2. Maybe I should start an experiment thread? Stating the difference in yield, taste, aroma, and overall high. Between using and not using CO2.
That could be a very interesting experiment!

IMHO it is useless unless you are a commercial grower with limited ventilation options. As long as you can circle in fresh o2, you are cycling in c02 too.

just another one of those marketing ploys to the uneducated grower. imho

I do..... and as to the assumption that it is a ploy to noobs........ I dont think it is that trivial if DJ Short went out of his way to devote a section of his book to co2 and proper ways of introducing it into your garden.........anyone else?

Though you may not want advice from me T... Here you go. CO2 enrichment can increase yield in some cases up to 30% ( Ed rosenthol did many studies) Trick is to not constantly run a CO2 tank. Put to have a regulator on tank so co2 levels never fall below an optimum range. Injesting co2 into air every hour or so rather than all day which is wastefull. Its like watering in a sense . While your plant needs water if you kep watering it all day , water will run off and its wasted. Same as CO2, same as nutes. No need for co2 at night since plants dont photosynthesize at night. Like I said , Ed Rosenthal did a nice study and article on it and from what you say DJ spoke in subject as well

I will take knowledge, wisdom or light all day from anyone........ occasionally its the attitude that gets me.......thanks much for the insights!

Does anyone know how co2 affects overall flavor or leaf to bud ratios? do you get a more leafy bushy plant? can you taste added co2 in the end product?

Glad I could help. I wouldnt think that added CO2 wouldnt effect taste at all. Its a colorless, tasteless odorless gas that the plant uses for enery and converts to oxygen. Nothing there to effect taste. Now the leaf to bud thing...ya got me there.
