CO2 Question about exhausting

Hi Guys,

So my grow room is pretty hot (85-90s):tumbleweed: and my AC unit is pretty much running all the time.

I have a co2 setup (tank and regulator), which is set to fill the room every 3 hours to 1500ppm. However, with the AC unit running 24/7, I doubt it ever gets close to 1500ppm. Should i just set my regulator to constantly release CO2 at a low rate rather than try to fill the room periodically? Is there any way to make the co2 worth while with the AC exhaust running all the time?

Cheers :thank you:

A mini-split ac would solve your problem. Or you could modify your ac so that the intake is sucking from outside your room.

It is fairly easy to modify a window ac to operate like this.

A box is built around the back of it and the intake and exhaust are separated and connenct to ducting to supply air and exhaust air.

The other option is a environmental controller that has C02/Temp/Humidity. It will shut off your co2 when it gets to a set temp and turn on your cooling device(exhaust fan/ac).
This way your not wasting c02 when the fan is on and when it cools back down the c02 turns back on and fan shuts off. They also have a photosensor built in that will shut off co2 when it is dark, because plants switch to o2 during dark cycle.

This might not work very good for you unless you had a stonger AC or properly sized exhaust fan, because, like you said it seems to always be running.

Window A/C units and mini splits dont exchange the air in the room. They only transfer the heat. Thats why people can use A/C in a 'sealed' room.

Now a single outlet portable A/C unit does create a negative pressure so avoids those.
