Co2 Injection in a tent without overheating

I have a 1000watt Light dimmed to 500watts in a 4 by 4 by 7 foot tent, the temp with the exhaust on 1/2 speed is about 82.5 degrees, I want to inject co2 into the garden but if I turn off the fan things will over heat. I thought about adding flouros to the garden so I could shut of the main light source and inject co2, I guess my huge issue is if I turn off the fan for co2 injection the plants may cook, how long will it take for my plants to suck up some beneficial co2 before I have to turn the exhaust back on?

Thanks SD

Running c02 in a tent is very very tough. Like u already stated heat is a major factor, Also with that exhaust your going to be sucking out all the co2. I would suggest getting 2 inline fans. One for exhaust and one for the light. Cool that light down with out exhausting any air in the tent. See what your temps will be with the light being cooled with out any air being exhausted from the tent.
If you can manage about 90 degrees you could proably swing the co2 with some added silica to your nute regimine.
Honestly co2 is more for a sealed room with no exhausting or fresh air coming in. Honestly you can get the same results with out co2 injection. To properly run co2 is very expensive. Honestly I have my room set up for both ways sealed and vented. Latley I have been running my setup vented. Its cheaper on electricity and the results ppretty much the same.
But with co2 injection it allows you to run the room a little hotter than you normally would run the room. When I run co2 I run my room around 85-90 degrees.

Ya I was thinking of running a second fan like you said but I don't think it will help very much as when I first started exhausting the tent I had the glass in my hood and was exhausting it through it across the light, but then I heard the glass lens blocks some of the uvb's or somthing so I took it out and exhausted from the top of the tent, marginal temperature difference so I thought best get the light to the plants and not worry about an extra degree in heat. Right now the whole setup runs at like 82 ish light on and 72 ish light offm Maybe I will forget the Co2, thanks for the heads up Man much appreciated.

Peace

If you can get an exhaust and fresh intake going you will have good results as long as everything else is good.
The frsh intake will bring in frsh air and fresh co2.

The ideal way for your tent would be 3 inline fans. One for lights, One for Exhaust and One for Fresh Intake.

co2 can be tricky in a tent. i use a propane genny in winter and bottled in summer.switching to floros when letting out the co2 aint gonna work well. i dont believe floros are bright enough and the plants wont be in overdrive utilizing all the co2. i could be wrong tho. anyone using co2 an floros?

You're right - that makes no sense to supercharge your atmosphere and run crappy weak lighting. The simplest thing to do is cool the light with separate ducting. Even simpler would be to just maximize your fresh air and screw the co2 until you're dialed in and in a totally sealed environment with temp and humidity control. The majority of growers do just fine without supplemental co2 by dialing in all the other factors that contribute to healthy growth and flowering, IMO.

Well folks i made up my mind, I still have a while to go before I am a pro but I think this is been the best ever so far, I considered LED with the UVB side ligts to cool things down, but that will be on the wish list for now I can see by the gracious input Except for Myron's admission of teen angst, I will have to stick with what I have for now dial it in like you say!

Cheers

keep growing, keep learning .smoke a j and laugh at haters. i eat trolls for breakfast lol. i suggest maximizing intake and exhaust and then dial in strain. then consider co2 as you will have a baseline.you can get amazing results without co2 too. in my4x4 test tent i run 1200watts and 2 fans 435 each. good luck bro

Thats encourageing. I own a total of 1700 watts of HPS of which I am utilizing only one 1000 hortilux eye dimmed to 500w initial but I dialed it up to 750w last night and added a Zoomed UVB light I cranked the fan to 80% full load, and it maintained 82 degrees all last night, I had my wireless temperature probe on my nightstand so I could monitor the function, I am gonna add 3 more UVB lights to cycle with the 1000 w hps when I can confirm I am not damaging my girls with it.

Cheers and thanks for the encouragment:tiphat:

Hey everyone!! I use cO2 in my 4 x 4 tent... I had to put an air conditioner in the window though. Then i hung a booster fan in front of it, which pushes in fresh cold air-no exhaust. I know your not supposed to run cO2 in a tent, but I shut the door to the 10 x 9 room and put a draft guard thing under the door to catch any cO2 that escapes the tent. I also use another 4 x 4 tent in the same room, so any escaped cO2 from the flowering tent may even be getting sucked up by the veg tent intake. I get good results in the flowering tent for sure
